We are nearing the halfway point of the NFL season, and it’s all playing out exactly as we thought: the Minnesota Vikings are atop the league, still undefeated with Sam Darnold as a legit MVP candidate. Of course, the Kansas City Chiefs and Patrick Mahomes are still hanging around, so some things are still predictable. This week provides some interesting matchups starting with Thursday night in Seattle. We have another home dog as both teams come off losses, although Seattle’s was a little worse than San Francisco’s. Here are your top two plays for Thursday Night Football on DraftKings Pick6!

Geno Smith M/L Than 249.5 Passing Yards
This number seems rather low for a quarterback who has passed this total (rather comfortably, I might add) in every game since Week 1 against the Broncos.
One thing that Geno Smith does is throw the football, and he faces a banged-up San Francisco 49ers defense on a short week. Smith has a trio of receivers and a pair of backs to rely on in the passing game.
Here’s the other thing; Seattle’s defense isn’t that good, and it’s pretty injured. The 49ers are going to have plenty of lanes to throw against a Seahawks team that lost to Daniel Jones and the Giants. Malik Nabers didn’t even play. Smith is going to have to play catch up or keep up most of the night with Brock Purdy and company. Even if it’s not a shootout on the scoreboard, they will have to move the ball to match San Francisco.
Smith is right at the top of the NFL in passing yards and should throw 35 or more times. Regardless of the means, we know the end result: more than 249.5 passing yards. He’s got a shot for 275, but there is no need to get crazy. There may be a move to fade Smith because of the 49ers’ name and the short week, but the air is Seattle’s preferred way of moving the ball, and Smith could hit 300 even in a low-scoring game.
DraftKings Pick6 Prediction: Geno Smith More Than 249.5 Passing Yards
Brock Purdy M/L 0.5 Interceptions Thrown
Yes, Seattle’s defense is pretty poor on the season. They didn’t just lose to the Giants, they gave up 29 points to one of the worst 10 offenses in the NFL (Okay, 23 if we take out the Kick Six). All without their explosive rookie wideout. The Seahawks defensive unit was pushed around and bullied by Detroit, giving up 49 points in a road loss. It’s been an ugly showing, and now they face a handful of playmakers from San Francisco.
This is a fantastic spot to take a contrarian play to the field and put some trust in the Seahawks defense. There’s going to be plenty of volume for Purdy as he tries to put the 49ers up early. Volume hasn’t been Purdy’s friend no matter the game result, as he has thrown picks with an increase of pass attempts. He has thrown a pick in each of his last two games, including two in a 35-attempt game against Arizona.
Seattle’s job is to force a turnover, and wild things can happen if a team keeps throwing the ball. Basically, Purdy has a strong path against the Seahawks defense to throw, but the more he throws the better chance we see a pick.
DraftKings Pick6 Prediction: Brock Purdy More Than 0.5 Interceptions Thrown
