Not many teams limped to the regular season finish lines like the Philadelphia Eagles. It’s almost like they wanted to make losing look classy, finding new ways to embarrass themselves against inferior opponents. The Eagles Super Bowl odds currently sit at 18-1 on DraftKings. After their latest debacle against the New York Giants, I wouldn’t hate anyone for fading Philly. Still, let’s make some Eagles Super Bowl predictions… which might surprise you.
Be warned however, while few teams look worse right now than the Eagles, there’s recent history that suggests there’s good value on this play. Here’s the real reason why the Philadelphia Eagles win the Super Bowl!
Philadelphia Eagles Super Bowl Prediction
What if they figure it out? Philadelphia is a -2.5 to -3 point favorite in Tampa Bay this weekend. Baker Mayfield doesn’t look too healthy and Tampa’s pass defense is arguably as bad – if not worse – than the Eagles. It’s not often that a team gets a chance to “get right” in the playoffs, but nothing about this Eagles season so far has been typical.
The Bucs offense flows through their QB. So long as he’s healthy, Tampa isn’t going to grind down the Birds with Rachaad White on the ground and still expect to keep up with the Eagles offense.
Yes, AJ Brown and DeVonta Smith come in with injury concerns, but Jalen Hurts is healthy – middle finger aside – enough to still take over a game. Chalk up how bad the Bucs defense can get, and this is a simple play of Hurts over Mayfield. Just one win on the road in the playoffs is enough to flip a switch, plus this is a squad full of veterans including some who have played in multiple Super Bowls. Never discount playoff experience versus the opposite side in Tampa.
Even if the Eagles don’t figure things out with just one win, they still have this crazy regular season stretch where they won multiple games in a row, despite them looking ugly. Downright “fugly” at times. It’s not out of this world to look at the talent on this team and see their offense returning to form.
Hurts and Nick Sirianni led an explosive offense just one year ago to the promised land, coming up short with the gates shut. They still have one of the biggest and best offensive lines in the NFL. Philly has a breakout back in both the run and pass game in D’Andre Swift. AJ Brown was playing like the MVP for a six to seven game stretch. DeVonta Smith – when healthy – is arguably the best second option in the league. Add Dallas Goedert having top 5 TE abilities and this offense can do some damage against anyone.
Take the Philadelphia Eagles in a buy low spot before they win on the road and the odds significantly dip. Much like any other bet we suggest you shop these prices at oddsshopper.com, as we found an 18-1 price.
