Free Sunday Night Football NFL Expert Pick Today: 49ers-Bills

Yesterday was a strong finish to November. I cashed in on Virginia Tech despite some uncertainty at quarterback, and we’re rolling that momentum into the new month.

Free NFL Expert Pick: Bills -6 vs. 49ers

For tonight’s game, I’m backing the Buffalo Bills to cover the 6-point spread at home against the San Francisco 49ers. As much as I’ve been a fan of the 49ers in the past, injuries have finally caught up to them.

San Francisco might get Brock Purdy back under center, but the rest of the roster is banged up. Nick Bosa and Trent Williams are out, and the team’s overall lack of consistency this season has been glaring. Turnovers have been a killer, with the 49ers ranking near the bottom of the league in turnover margin. Add in sluggish offensive performances, and they’ve been unable to generate the explosive plays we’re used to seeing from them.

They’ve dropped two straight games, including a blowout loss to Green Bay and a home defeat to Seattle. While those are tough opponents, Buffalo is even better than those two teams, coming into this game at 9-2 and riding a six-game winning streak.

The Bills are rested, coming off a bye and playing at home in primetime. Josh Allen and the offense are finding their rhythm, and while the Bills don’t play at a particularly fast pace, their personnel is too much for San Francisco to handle.

Defensively, the 49ers have struggled to capitalize in critical moments. They’re 25th in red zone scoring on offense and 29th in allowing opponents to capitalize in the red zone. That’s not a recipe for success against a Buffalo team that can dictate the game on both sides of the ball.

Christian McCaffrey being back for the 49ers helps, but Deebo Samuel hasn’t been the same this year, and it’s hard to imagine them piecing together enough offense to keep up. Buffalo is clicking right now, and I see them winning this one comfortably, putting San Francisco’s playoff hopes on the brink.
