Is Josh Jacobs Playing for Las Vegas on Thursday Night Football?

The Las Vegas Raiders have listed running back Josh Jacobs as questionable. They did so despite Jacobs’ failure to participate in any practices this week, which is a bad sign for his availability.

Although Jacobs is a veteran at this point, which means he needs practice less than his peers to prepare for a given opponent, logging DNP status all week — especially on a short week — usually indicates a player is unavailable.

Raiders interim head coach Antonio Pierce has kept his cards close to his chest on this one. According to reporters, Pierce’s thought process is that Jacobs can get ready to go, Thursday will be the “Josh Jacobs show.”

So is Josh Jacobs playing on Thursday? I doubt it. The Raiders now have three healthy running backs on their active roster to go with a fullback, who they just promoted from the practice squad this week.

The cast of Ameer Abdullah, Zamir White and Brandon Bolden may not inspire much confidence, but they’re likely who the Raiders will have to make do with at running back.

If you’re interested in fading the Las Vegas Raiders tonight because of their injury woes, you’ll find them trading as 3-point home favorites at most books, including bet365. Of course, a wager against the Raiders is also a wager on unproven quarterback Easton Stick, who won’t even have his top receiver, Keenan Allen. Still, backing Stick to keep a banged-up Chargers team within a field goal against a similarly banged-up Raiders team should prove profitable. If you’re new to bet365, you can get $150 in bets after betting $5 — or up to $1,000 in bonus bets back if your first wager loses.
