Keenan Allen Injury Update

The Los Angeles Chargers have a long injury report for Sunday’s road game against the Green Bay Packers. Keenan Allen and Jalen Guyton, two of the team’s top remaining receivers, are questionable. Allen missed Wednesday’s practice before getting in limited work on Thursday and a full session on Friday. Guyton picked up a groin injury during the week and was limited on Friday.

Allen has been trending in the right direction all week. Although he is nursing a shoulder injury, his full session on Friday and selected quotes from head coach Brandon Staley inspire some confidence. Staley told reporters on Thursday that he was “hopeful” Allen would play. Allen himself told the media that he’ll “be out there again.”

Is Keenan Allen Playing for Los Angeles on Sunday?

So is Keenan Allen playing for Los Angeles on Sunday? Almost certainly. I usually don’t take players at face value, but Allen is a veteran, and Staley should trust him to understand where he is at in the recovery process. The fact Allen was allowed to log a full practice session on Friday should inspire confidence in his availability.

With Allen questionable but trending in the right direction, the Chargers are listed as 3-point favorites on bet365, giving them an implied total of 23.5 points. Allen’s receiving yardage prop sits all the way up at 85.5. With him likely available, trusting the Chargers to cover — or beat their team total — could prove sharp. New to bet365?
