The Seattle Seahawks have been having a rough few weeks in the injury department. Star running back Kenneth Walker III and rookie backup Zach Charbonnet are both dealing with injuries — and both are questionable for Sunday. Let’s look at the most recent Kenneth Walker III injury updates as we assess whether he will be playing in Sunday’s game against the San Francisco 49ers. Kenneth Walker III Injury Update: Is Seattle’s Star Playing on Sunday?
Kenneth Walker III Injury Update
It’s been tough sledding for the Seahawks lately. Both Walker and Zach Charbonnet — along with starting quarterback Geno Smith — are all dealing with injuries. That’s especially problematic because the Seahawks have a pivotal matchup against the 49ers on tap this weekend. The NFC West is the 49ers’ to lose, especially if they can beat the Seahawks in this spot.
Walker has been dealing with an oblique injury. He suffered the injury against the Los Angeles Rams in Week 12 and missed Week 13 with it. The good news for Walker is that he managed to return to practice this week — he got in limited reps on Thursday and full reps on Friday. Charbonnet’s participation mirrored Walker’s perfectly as well.
Head coach Pete Carroll sounded optimistic about Walker’s availability. “Both of those guys looked pretty good,” he said of Walker and Charbonnet on Friday, “[we’ll] see how they feel and all that, but both guys worked today.”
Is Kenneth Walker III Playing for Seattle on Sunday?
So, is Kenneth Walker III playing on Sunday? That’s a hard one. The Seattle Seahawks could easily punt on this game by ruling out Charbonnet, Walker and Smith, in hopes of getting ready for Week 15. But with the Philadelphia Eagles up next, Seattle really can’t afford to lose any more games — especially not divisional ones.
I suspect Walker and Charbonnet will suit up, but I’m not sure how much run they’ll get, especially if the Seahawks go down early. The game script doesn’t look favorable for them as Seattle is a 13.5-point underdog at bet365.
Not many betting markets are open on this game at bet365 or across the market. No rushing props for Seattle’s running backs are available, nor are any passing props available for Smith or backup Drew Lock. Still, a wager on San Francisco to cover could be sharp if you agree the chance of Seattle punting on this one is as high as I believe it to be.
If you’re new to bet365, you can get $150 in bets after betting $5 — or up to $1,000 in bonus bets back if your first wager loses — and if you’re a Louisiana resident, you can take advantage of the sportsbook’s recent launch for $365 in bonus bets after betting $1!
