Lamar Jackson Next Team Odds: Colts To Take Chance on Former MVP?

The Lamar Jackson saga heated up this week after the Baltimore Ravens quarterback went public with a trade demand he claims to have filed earlier in the month. It has been believed that Jackson will still play next season for the Ravens despite the two sides remaining far apart in contract extension talks. Now, though, it seems the door is open for potential suitors to make a run at the speedy quarterback. The early Lamar Jackson next team odds indicate that the Indianapolis Colts might be the most likely team to send a haul for the signal-caller.

Lamar Jackson Next Team Odds: Colts Leading the Pack

DraftKings Sportsbook recently dropped lines on Jackson’s next team (Ravens not included). For now, the Colts are the favorites. Check out the full odds, below:

  • Colts +250
  • Falcons +300
  • Patriots +400
  • Commanders +650
  • Vikings +900
  • Lions +900
  • Dolphins +950
  • 49ers +1500
  • Titans +1600
  • Jets +2500

Teams such as the Atlanta Falcons and Detroit Lions had been linked to Jackson. But after Lions head coach Dan Campbell pledged his allegiance to Jared Goff, Falcons owner Arthur Blank explained why his team is likely out on any potential Jackson trade despite showing interest in Deshaun Watson last offseason.

“Every year is different,” Blank told USA TODAY Sports. “Deshaun was a different situation. It was a different time and space. I think Lamar is a great player, he was MVP for the league (in 2019). But we look at our roster and our ability to continue to build our roster now and have salary cap freedom, which we’ve never had.”

It is entirely possible that teams are a bit gun-shy on Jackson because of the injury that kept him out most of the 2022-23 season. The quarterback suffered PCL injury on Dec. 4 that was initially believed to be a two- to three-week recovery. But he ended up citing discomfort and sitting out the final six games of the season including the team’s playoff loss.

Jackson took to social media to defend sitting out amid criticism that he left his teammates high and dry.

“Let’s get real. I rather have a 100% PCL than go out there and play horrible forcing myself to put my guys in a bad situation now that’s selfish to me,” Jackson tweeted Tuesday night.

There is no denying Jackson is one of the most dynamic players in the NFL when he takes the field. But availability appears to be the main concern for some teams out there. Based don’t the latest Lamar Jackson next team odds, the Colts might just be desperate enough to try and capitalize on the rift between Jackson and the Ravens brass.
