Lions-49ers Same Game Parlay Bet | Conference Championship
Sam LaPorta 5 + Catches (NFL Player Prop)
We cashed our Sam LaPorta player prop with ease last week, and we’re going right back to the rookie tight end who set rookie records this season. LaPorta looks completely healed from the injury in Week 18 that hobbled him in the Wild Card round. He played 88% of their snaps on his way to a team-high nine catches.
OddsShopper’s tools have LaPorta Over 4.5 catches as a +EV play on BetMGM, while the rest of the major books have LaPorta at 5.5 catches. Since we’re using FanDuel, five catches are heavily juiced but make for an excellent parlay piece, especially against a 49ers defense that is susceptible to the tight end position.
George Kittle Over 59.5 Receiving Yards (NFL Player Prop)
Let’s dive into the 49ers side of things. This offense is loaded from top to bottom — it has a stout offensive line followed by the best running back in the NFL — but we’re focusing on tight end George Kittle. Kittle has shown up in big moments, and I expect much of the same today.
Playoff Kittle is at his best with space to run in the open field. Last week was a great example. Kittle reeled in four of his seven targets for 81 yards. A considerable chunk came on a 32-yard catch and run for a touchdown. His speed was on full display, as he’s one of the most challenging assignments in the league. He’s too fast for linebackers but too physical for slot corners and safeties.
OddsShopper’s tools have helped us find the best line for Kittle’s receiving yards, and this time FanDuel comes in with the best line. They’re offering his yards at 59.5 with little vig. Meanwhile, DraftKings and Caesars have Kittle set at 58.5 but with vig on the over. Backing the better price here is the better long-term move.
David Montgomery Touchdown (NFL Player Prop)
The story all week out of the backfield room in Detroit has been Jahmyr Gibbs, and for good reason. The rookie running back totaled over 100 yards and found the end zone in the fourth quarter on a 31-yard rushing touchdown last week in the divisional round. Meanwhile, David Montgomery ran the ball 10 times and had to watch third-string running back Craig Reynolds score a touchdown in the red zone — a part of that field that Montgomery usually owns.
Montgomery was a cash cow in this department during the regular season. He scored 13 touchdowns and found the end zone in the Wild Card round. I trust that Dan Campbell will lean on Montgomery in the red zone in a game with a total of 51.5 points and against a hard-nosed 49ers defense capable of gobbling up Jared Goff.
