The latest news out of Carolina doesn’t look good for running back Miles Sanders. He was able to participate in practice on Wednesday and Thursday in a limited capacity but could not go on Friday. He has been dealing with a groin injury that he just hasn’t been able to beat.
When asked about Sanders on Friday, head coach Frank Reich told reporters that he was “optimistic” about it. However, he added that he still “[needed] to see” how the rest of the week played out for him. Sanders appears truly questionable for Sunday’s Vikings-Panthers game.

So is Miles Sanders playing for Carolina in Week 4? We don’t know yet, and we’re unlikely to know until either late Saturday evening or early Sunday morning. Reich may even want to see Sanders go through warmups before making a decision after he missed practice on Friday.

If the Panthers don’t get Sanders for this one, they’re in good hands. They have Chuba Hubbard and Raheem Blackshear on the bench, and Hubbard has looked more than serviceable when called on to replace Sanders. However, the betting market has moved against Carolina — the Panthers were 3.5-point dogs at DraftKings on Wednesday but are 4.5-point dogs as of Saturday afternoon.
