@dannyburke5 – Spread – HOU -2.5: This will be the third preseason game for the Houston Texans and their first at home. C.J. Stroud played a couple series last week and could see more action this Saturday.
Once Stroud exits, it’s a trio of quarterbacks competing for backup spots: Davis Mills, Case Keenum and Tim Boyle.

On the opposing side, Daniel Jones returns to live action for the first time since tearing his ACL last November. Tommy DeVito will serve as the backup, and it looks like Drew Lock won’t play due to a hip injury sustained in last week’s game.
The talent is deeper on Houston’s side, especially at the most vital position. Give me the Texans at home.

@is_sirois – Total – LAC-LAR O/U 33.5: Look, I get it. This number is probably too low, and I’m taking the bait by betting on the under. That said, I don’t think that people realize just how bad the reserves are on both of these offenses.
For the Rams, it’s Stetson Bennett and Dresser Winn at quarterback; for the Chargers, it’s Easton Stick, Max Duggan and Luis Perez. None of these guys are real options.
The Rams will turn to assistant head coach and defensive backs coach Aubrey Pleasant to lead this one, while it’s defensive-minded Jim Harbaugh and run-heavy offensive coordinator Greg Roman on the other.

It’s easy to see how this game could collapse into an offense-free debacle. Bennett threw four picks while averaging only 5.7 net yards per attempt (NY/A) last week as the Rams’ only quarterback. Perez, Stick and Duggan all completed less than 60% of their throws for a collective 3.9 NY/A.
Oh, the Rams also scored a total of 13 points (while allowing 12) while the Chargers scored three (while allowing 16). I think we stay closer to 30 than 33.5.
