The NFL season rolls on with Week 4, and we are treated to our first London game of the season. We also still have every team in action, with byes not yet starting. It has only been three weeks of survivor, but if you are still alive, take a bow, as last week produced multiple upsets that bounced a lot of people from their pools. It’s probably too early to say the finish line is in sight, but the equity on your teams drastically increased after Week 3. Now we need to find a path to Week 5. Let’s dive into some NFL survivor picks for this tricky Week 4 schedule.

49ers (-14) vs. Cardinals | NFL Survivor Week 4
If your goal is to make it to Week 5 at any cost, then choose the 49ers and enjoy your Sunday. OddsShopper has the moneylines and spreads across the industry, and right now it shows San Francisco as upwards of a -900 moneyline favorite at home against Arizona. This will be one of the highest moneylines of the entire year, and it’s an easy case to make. The 49ers are the best team in the NFL, are at home and are getting a long week after playing Thursday.
The Cardinals proved they are no pushover, as they upset the Cowboys and knocked out a lot of people in survivor pools. The problem for them is they will hit the road to take on a 49ers team that doesn’t seem to have any weakness. It would be shocking if Arizona is able to run the ball on San Francisco, and Brock Purdy should have all his weapons at his disposal. The only real question here is, do you want to burn the best team in the league this early? If you save them, it’ll probably be for the Cardinals the second time around or Washington later in the season. Those moneylines might not be as high as the one this week, but it will be great to have this team available if you go elsewhere and survive.
Chargers (-5.5) vs. Raiders | NFL Survivor Week 4
If you want to have a big sweat this Sunday, then the Chargers might be the team for you. They only play games that boggle the mind, and it seems like every week is a rollercoaster. They did get their first win of the season last week against Minnesota, but that game provided head-scratching moments from both teams. This is a good spot at home against Las Vegas, and the books agree, as the Chargers have moneylines around -250.
The win last week didn’t come without a cost, as Mike Williams was lost for the season and now Derwin James is also banged up. The Chargers still have a prolific offense, and with Justin Herbert under center, the Raiders secondary will be tested. Las Vegas is coming off a disappointing loss to the Steelers, and quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo is now in the protocol with a concussion. There is no info on his status yet, but the Chargers will move up the board if he is unable to go.
This pick is much more likely to lose in Week 4 than one like the 49ers, but it also probably provides a better chance to get deep into the season, which is needed for large-field pools. If you don’t use the Chargers here, a home matchup with Chicago or Denver will probably be the best spot going forward.
Cowboys (-7) vs. Patriots | NFL Survivor Week 4
The Cowboys in some ways are the best mix of aggressive and conservative, as they strike a balance of making sure you get to Week 5 while not burning all the top-end teams. It’s true that the Cowboys are towards the top of the best picks to have long term, but they don’t have a ton of elite spots remaining. The biggest spread Dallas probably has on the season was last week against Arizona, and that did not turn out great. Anyone who is still alive in survivor probably has Dallas available because those who used them probably ended their survivor team with that upset in Week 3.
Dallas draws a home game with the Patriots and is looking for a bounce back. There is no excuse to lose to Arizona, but the Cowboys are a better team than what they showed there. Not having Trevon Diggs on the outside hurts, but it shouldn’t have produced so many problems, especially between the tackles.
Look for Dak Prescott and the Cowboys offense to look way more efficient, especially at home, where they are much stronger. The Patriots got their first win by holding off the Jets in miserable weather on Sunday. Part of the success was due to a solid showing by the Patriots secondary, but more of it was due to the Jets’ lack of offense. That’s not going to work against a team with CeeDee Lamb and Tony Pollard, both of whom provide challenges in ways the Jets cannot. A -300 moneyline offers confidence that Dallas is a solid selection for Week 4 NFL survivor.
