The NFL is basically a third of the way through the regular season as it enters Week 6, and now teams are starting to formulate their postseason chances. There is still plenty of time, but for many teams the time is now to start racking up wins. NFL Survivor continues to have fewer options due to byes, teams used and matchups that aren’t appealing. Fortunately, only two teams are on bye this week, which provides a little more room to navigate this challenging slate. Let’s dive into a few candidates Week 6 Survivor picks.

Chiefs (-10.5) vs. Broncos | NFL Survivor Week 6
Once again the Thursday Night Football game deserves a mention, as the Chiefs welcome the awful Denver Broncos into Arrowhead. Divisional games aren’t typically good targets in Survivor, but sometimes the matchup is too good. The Broncos sit at 1-4 and now are on the road in a truly terrible spot. It’s hard to imagine them putting up much of a fight, and the books agree, with Kansas City around -550 on the moneyline according to OddsShopper’s Live Odds page.
The question always remains about burning a team as good as Kansas City versus trying to roll the dice somewhere else. Looking ahead to the future, the Raiders and Patriots are on the Chiefs’ schedule but not until much later, making this a pretty viable spot. It would take quite an upset to have Denver knock you out of Survivor, so if you are looking to maximize your Week 6 survival equity, Kansas City needs to be considered.
Rams (-6.5) vs. Cardinals | NFL Survivor Week 6
It is always important to consider the biggest favorites on the board and how useful they can be for Survivor. However, if you are still in a large pool, you have to find ways to be different and plan for the future. This means at times forgoing the easy favorites for other teams that offer some leverage. One spot that will not get a ton of love is the Rams at home against Arizona. This 6-point spread and -275 moneyline are not as high as others, but Los Angeles should get the job done.
Arizona has probably overachieved this year, proving to be a tough out for a lot of quality teams. The Cardinals are still 1-4 and now have to go on the road, where they’ve had no success so far. Joshua Dobbs hasn’t been awful but doesn’t lead the most prolific passing attack. On the defensive side, Arizona is almost exclusively in the bottom third in the league, with issues upfront and with the secondary. Now that Matthew Stafford has even more weapons on the outside, it’s a prime spot to use a team like the Rams with little to no opportunity cost. In that difficult division, a home game with Arizona is about as good as it gets, and this could be a way to be different in Week 6.
Dolphins (-13.5) vs. Panthers | NFL Survivor Week 6
A lot of people went to the Dolphins last week, as they were double digit favorites at home against the Giants. That decision turned out how expected, with a sweat-free win but Miami no longer available. One of the reasons to look elsewhere in that one was the future matchups for the Dolphins, including this week’s with Carolina. Not having them available when they are -850 moneyline favorites and north of two touchdowns on the spread takes away the premier choice for Week 6.
Miami and its explosive offense draw the dream matchup with Carolina, who is obviously rebuilding. Bryce Young hasn’t looked great, and it is clear he and this team have a ways to go before being competitive. It would take a truly massive effort to even stay in a game against Tyreek Hill and the Dolphins attack. The big question once again is how valuable Miami’s future is if choosing to pass on it again. The Dolphins still get the Jets and Patriots in the future, but this week is a spot worth taking. It should be a no-sweat win, allowing you to cruise into Week 7 while others have to take a much more dangerous path.
