I hope you navigated the chaos of Thanksgiving Week successfully. With things now settling down post-holiday week, it’s a great time to narrow down your survivor pool selections for Week 14. Let’s dive into my top survivor picks for NFL Week 14.
NFL Survivor Pool Picks Week 14: Vikings, Buccaneers or Eagles?
Vikings -5.5 vs. Falcons | NFL Survivor Pool Picks Week 14
The storyline in this game revolves around Kirk Cousins returning to Minnesota to face his former team. Revenge narratives often attract bettors, whether through team wagers or player props centered on the returning player.
However, this situation is a bit more complex. Cousins hasn’t been performing at his usual level. Over his last four games, he’s completed just 65% of his passes with a modest 4:3 touchdown-to-interception ratio. Most notably, he’s coming off his worst game of the season, completing only 16 of 26 passes for 155 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions against the Steelers. Speculation has even arisen about the possibility of rookie quarterback Michael Penix Jr. taking over under center.
Realistically, Cousins is expected to start, and there’s a good chance he improves given last week’s poor outing and the added motivation of facing his former team. However, Atlanta’s defense hasn’t done much to help their cause. The Falcons rank 20th in both EPA per play and success rate allowed, giving up 5.5 yards per play.
Minnesota, on the other hand, has been underwhelming offensively in recent weeks but continues to find ways to win. They also benefit from a strong home-field advantage and an elite defense that ranks second in both EPA per play and success rate allowed, while surrendering just 5.1 yards per play.
Buccaneers -6.5 vs. Raiders | NFL Survivor Week 14
Speaking of finding ways to win, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers did just that last week in overtime against the Carolina Panthers.
Despite dealing with a slew of injuries, the Bucs have managed to stay competitive. They’ve gotten a bit healthier over the past couple of weeks and face a favorable matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders this Sunday.
The Raiders, currently on an eight-game losing streak, are widely regarded as the NFL’s worst team. PFF grades their defense 30th in the league, and offensively they rank dead last in EPA per play, averaging just 4.9 yards per play.
While rookie tight end Brock Bowers has been a revelation to their offense, his contributions alone haven’t been enough to turn losses into wins.
Tampa Bay, meanwhile, is battling for the top spot in their division. This week’s matchup gives them an excellent opportunity to strengthen those chances.
Eagles -12.5 vs. Panthers | NFL Survivor Week 14
The top choice this week is the biggest favorite on the board – and arguably the best team in the NFL.
PFF grades the Eagles as the second-best defense in the league. Offensively, they rank fifth in EPA per play and average just under 27 points per game.
Their opponent, the Panthers, paints a very different picture. Carolina averages only 18 points per game and ranks 28th in EPA per play. However, they’ve shown some improvement recently since Bryce Young reclaimed the starting quarterback role. Over his last four games, Young has thrown four touchdowns against one interception and led the team to a 2-2 record. Even in their losses to the Buccaneers and Chiefs, the outcomes were decided by just a field goal.
Despite this recent surge, the Eagles remain far superior and should dominate in all facets of the game. If you still have Philly available this late in the season, now is the perfect time to use them.
