Garrett Wilson Anytime Touchdown

I don’t like to bet on meaningless football games, which is basically what we’ve got at the Meadowlands this week. The eliminated Washington Commanders will play the eliminated New York Jets with nothing on the line but individuals’ stats and draft positioning. Still, with New York finally putting an actual quarterback under center, I’m targeting one of their receivers.

Trevor Siemian will make his first start for the New York Jets on Sunday, and that’s a major boost to everyone around him. The journeyman quarterback has struggled in two relief appearances, completing only 48.7% of his throws for 3.3 net yards per attempt (NY/A), but I have faith he’ll bounce back against a soft Commanders secondary. In games Siemian served as the starter, he has completed 59.1% of his throws for 5.8 NY/A, 37 touchdowns and 28 interceptions.

All of New York’s other quarterbacks have trusted Garrett Wilson in the red zone, so I expect Siemian to do the same. Wilson leads the Jets with 13 red-zone targets, good for 39.4% of the team’s total, along with seven targets inside the 10-yard line, good for 38.9% of the total. The Jets may struggle to actually get in the red zone, but the Commanders have coughed up the second-most receiving touchdowns to wideouts per game this year (1.5), so I like Wilson at odds of +230 at Caesars.

Mike Evans Anytime Touchdown

If you’re looking to bet on Mike Evans to score a touchdown, I’ll tell you where not to bet it. BetMGM has Evans listed at -250 — yes, that is an actual price. I know the wide receiver phenom has caught a touchdown in five of his last six games, but that price is brutal. Thankfully, OddsShopper’s tools are here to help us find the best price to bet on anytime touchdown markets. Let’s dive in!

Evans has made a career out of finding the end zone. He ranks in the top 10 all-time amongst wide receivers in touchdowns. Right behind him is Davante Adams, who has yet to have the same success this season as Evans. Evans’ 11 touchdowns this season are the sixth most and trail lethal names, including Christian McCaffreyJalen Hurts and Raheem Mostert. Those three guys’ odds to score a touchdown this weekend are not like the odds we’re getting for Mike Evans

Evans’ price of +145 on Caesars Sportsbook is 50 cents better than the competitor at FanDuel. We’re getting an excellent price for a receiver like Evans, and we’re getting it against a team that has allowed the seventh-most touchdowns per game to the wide receiver position.

Raheem Mostert Anytime Touchdown

The NFL’s leader in rushing touchdowns, Raheem Mostert, sits at odds of -110 on the anytime touchdown scorer markets this weekend. Sure, the matchup with the Dallas Cowboys looks like a tough one, but Miami is a 1.5-point home favorite, and the total is a lofty 49.5 on bet365. I just don’t understand why Mostert’s odds aren’t much shorter.

Mostert’s 18 rushing touchdowns and two receiving touchdowns aren’t some statistical fluke. Mostert leads the Dolphins (and the NFL) in carries both inside the 10-yard line (30) and inside the five-yard line (17). He also boasts five targets inside the red zone. With that kind of volume, 20 touchdowns should be the expectation.

Of course, not all of Mostert’s touchdown runs have come in goal-to-go situations. Despite his age, Mostert is still an electric runner. He reached the ninth-fastest speed recorded by a ball carrier this year in a Week 2 43-yard rushing touchdown against the New England Patriots at 21.6 mph. While that’s slower than two of his teammates, Tyreek Hill and De’Von Achane, it’s more than enough for Mostert to break off a chunk play.

Those skeptical of the Miami offense’s ability to get into the red zone versus Dallas can take some solace in Mostert’s ability to break off big plays. Still, Miami ranks a solid 10th in red-zone scoring attempts per game (3.6). Dallas may rank an impressive fourth in red-zone scoring attempts allowed (2.7), but that number ticks up to 3.1 when they play on the road.
