Who: Derrick Henry at Caesars
We all hate betting on anytime touchdown scorers when the odds dip below even, but I encourage you to plug your nose and play this one at Caesars. Derrick Henry’s anytime touchdown odds vary from an absurd -180 (64.3%) at DraftKings to -120 (54.6%) at Caesars, a number that probably won’t be on the board when this game gets underway. The Titans will likely rule out DeAndre Hopkins before this one kicks off, leaving them shorthanded at the skill positions.
I might be stating the obvious here, but the Tennessee Titans and head coach Mike Vrabel trust Henry in the red zone. Only four players recorded a red-zone carry for the Titans last year, and only two recorded a carry inside the five-yard line. Henry controlled 75% of the red-zone carries and 88.2% of the carries inside the five-yard line. Henry’s high usage in the red zone has continued — the Titans had three red-zone rushing attempts in Week 1, all of which went to Henry.
Henry draws a matchup with the Los Angeles Chargers, who coughed up the second-most rushing yards and the seventh-most rushing touchdowns to running backs last season. They’re off to a good start this year, allowing only 48 rushing yards on 13 attempts to Miami’s backfield, but one of those went for a touchdown. Trust Tennessee’s run-heavy offense to give Henry enough looks near the goal line for him to find paydirt.

Best Chargers-Titans Anytime Touchdown Pick for Week 1: Derrick Henry -120 at Caesars
Colts-Texans Anytime Touchdown Bet

Watch: FOX
When: Sunday, Sept. 17 at 1 p.m. ET
Where: NRG Stadium, Houston
Who: Dameon Pierce at DraftKings
The Houston Texans will host the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday afternoon. Quarterback C.J. Stroud is questionable with an injury to his throwing shoulder, which means there is a very real chance the Texans have to roll with Davis Mills. I expect a run-heavy game script from Houston as they look to control the clock, and that will benefit no one more than second-year running back Dameon Pierce. Pierce controlled 54.2% of the red-zone rushing attempts for Houston last year and 53.8% of the carries inside the five-yard line.
Of course, the question is whether Houston can get the ball into the red zone. Fortunately, the Colts aren’t all that great defensively, especially not against running backs. Indianapolis coughed up 86 rushing yards to running backs in Week 1 along with two rushing scores, one to Travis Etienne Jr. and another to Tank Bigsby. Houston’s offensive line will probably be without star tackle Laremy Tunsil, but the rest of the line is solid, and the unit ranks sixth in run-block win rate (74%) after Week 1. Trust them to create some openings for Pierce against Indy.
The odds for this anytime touchdown scorer bet range from a stingy +100 (50%) at FanDuel to a nice +160 (38.5%) at DraftKings. Let’s take advantage of the better number before it disappears. Stroud getting ruled out would probably shorten the number, as would Tunsil getting ruled in. Pierce only scored five touchdowns in 13 starts last year, but he was playing in a dramatically less efficient offense and behind a much worse offensive line. Look for him to score his sixth-career touchdown in a game the sportsbooks expect the Texans to win.
