NFL Week 4 Anytime Touchdown Bets: Picks for Ravens-Browns, Raiders-Chargers & More
Ravens-Browns Anytime Touchdown Bet

Who: Baltimore D/ST at DraftKings
This game isn’t a good one to target if you’re looking for points. The total is set to a lowly 39. The Cleveland Browns’ defense leads the NFL in expected points added (EPA) allowed per play, and the Baltimore Ravens will have their hands full come Sunday. However, I still want action on a longshot anytime touchdown scorer for this game: the Baltimore Ravens defense and special teams.
The Ravens could put points on the board either via a return or with a defensive score. The Ravens have an electric return man in Devin Duvernay, who averaged 11.9 yards per punt return with two that went for 40-plus yards. He also averaged 25.5 yards per kick return with one going for a 103-yard touchdown. The Browns are a below-average team in both punt and kick return yardage allowed.

Baltimore’s defense could also find paydirt. The Ravens will take on either an injured Deshaun Watson, who has thrown four interceptable passes and fumbled the rock another four times, or fifth-round rookie Dorian Thompson-Robinson. Watson is questionable with an injury to his throwing shoulder, and I’m skeptical of his availability for this one. At such long odds, they’re worth sprinkling a bit of cash on.

Broncos-Bears Anytime Touchdown Bet

Watch: CBS
When: Sunday, Oct. 1 at 1 p.m. ET
Where: Soldier Field, Chicago
Who: Javonte Williams at Caesars
It’s the toilet bowl game of the week. This one could get ugly, as both teams sit at 0-3 and got shredded on defense last week. The Broncos allowed 70 points to the Dolphins, while the Bears allowed 41 to the Chiefs. Somebody has to score in this game. I hope.
The Broncos have given Javonte Williams his fair share of work to start the season. He has eclipsed at least 10 rush attempts in all three games but has yet to find the endzone. He has yet to play in a game script that favored the run game, as Russell Wilson has thrown the ball over 30 times every week. They find themselves as 3.5-point favorites this week on FanDuel, with Williams set to get his most work of the season with his rushing attempts line set at 13.5.

The Bears have allowed four rushing touchdowns through three games, which ranks in the bottom 10 in the league. The Broncos allowed five just last week. Pick your poison in this duel between winless teams, but I’ll side with the lead back for the favored team that is plus money on Caesars and DraftKings but -135 on FanDuel.

Raiders-Chargers Anytime Touchdown Bet

Who: Josh Jacobs at DraftKings
Josh Jacobs is more than due to find the end zone. With the status of quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo in question, Jacobs could see an increase in volume, especially when the Raiders get down in the red zone. Jacobs has six carries inside the 10-yard line this season. The results are disheartening. He has rushed for just five yards and zero touchdowns. His five carries rank in the top 10 amongst running backs, and he is the only one yet to find the end zone. The lone other exception, Alexander Mattison, has yet to find the endzone on the ground but caught a receiving touchdown in Week 1.
The Chargers will play host in this divisional showdown, which should be a high-scoring game. Through the first three weeks of the season, both teams rank in the bottom 10 in points allowed, with the Chargers allowing a touchdown on more than half of their opponent’s drive that reached the red zone. The Chargers have ranked in the middle of the pack in rushing yards allowed to start the season, but Jacobs has already succeeded against Los Angeles in the past. In seven career games against the Chargers, Jacobs has found the endzone five times, including last season, where he rushed for 144 yards on 26 attempts. We may not see that same workload, but Jacobs will be leaned upon in this one no matter Garoppolo’s status.

Cardinals-49ers Anytime Touchdown Bet

Who: Brandon Aiyuk at Caesars
The San Francisco 49ers will host the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday. They may not have Deebo Samuel, who failed to practice all week with knee and groin injuries, and they won’t have Jauan Jennings, who has already been ruled out. That leaves them pressed for depth at receiver, which stands to benefit Brandon Aiyuk more than any other player — especially in the red zone. Let’s lock him in at +170 (37%) on Caesars.
Aiyuk has been a high-volume red-zone weapon in Kyle Shanahan’s offense. This year, he ranks second on the 49ers in red-zone target share (33.3%), trailing only Samuel (44.4%). Last year, he led the team in red-zone target share (24.6%). He still has to contend with red-zone targets for tight end George Kittle, but, if the spread and total are any indication, the 49ers should get plenty of chances to score.
San Francisco is a 14-point home favorite in a game with a total of 43.5 points, which means Vegas projects them for 28.8. That means three to four touchdowns are probable for the 49ers. The Cardinals are coughing up only 22.3 points per game, but they haven’t faced an offense nearly as efficient as Shanahan’s (yes, I’m not counting the Dallas Cowboys). Buy Aiyuk anywhere north of +150 (40%).
