Cardinals-Packers Anytime Touchdown Scorer Bet for Week 6

Pick by Danny Burke.

Last week, I dished out Josh Jacobs to cash for us as an anytime touchdown scorer, and he finally notched his first as a member of the Green Bay Packers. It only took five weeks, but Jacobs finally crossed the plane!

I’m going back to the well with Jacobs this week. Last Sunday against the Rams, Jacobs was in a very favorable spot against one of the worst run defenses in the NFL. This week, he’ll be in an arguably better matchup against a defense that’s just as bad.

The Arizona Cardinals rank 28th in rush success rate and 23rd in expected points added (EPA) allowed per rushing attempt. They’re allowing 1.6 rushing touchdowns per game and giving up the most red-zone scoring opportunities, averaging 4.4 per game.

Jacobs is getting nearly every red zone carry, so volume won’t be an issue. Additionally, his expected touchdowns metric remains at three, meaning the opportunities have been there and are projected to be consistent.

Considering this matchup sets up even better for Jacobs than the last, I would’ve expected his odds to be the same or even higher than last week’s range of -120 to -130. However, we can currently get him for around 15 cents less. Let’s capitalize on that value while we can.

Commanders-Ravens Anytime Touchdown Scorer Bet for Week 6

Pick by Isaiah Sirois.

Fantasy football manages may not want to hear this, but the Baltimore Ravens don’t care about who gets the most fantasy points. We’ve seen Lamar Jackson distribute the football well in the red zone, although tight end Isaiah Likely leads the way for having proven quite good at finding gaps in the defense when Jackson needs to improvise.

Behind Likely with five, who do you think leads the Ravens in red-zone targets? It’s running back Justice Hill (4), followed by Rashod Bateman (3) and Zay Flowers (3). Derrick Henry and Mark Andrews both have two. There is no clear top red-zone option except for who can get open.

Baltimore’s red-zone offense will obviously prioritize getting Henry the ball on the ground, but when that fairs (or in obvious passing situations), Jackson’s dynamic with Bateman feels too good to ignore — especially at +320 odds.

Bateman and Baltimore’s receiving corps takes on a Washington defense that ranks 32nd in receiving touchdowns allowed to wide receivers (10). Tight ends like Likely just have one. That may be a sample-size issue, but I believe it points to a personnel issue — Washington is relying a pretty brutal cast of cornerbacks to defend wideouts.

This year, Washington’s rostered cornerbacks include Benjamin St-Juste (58.7 PFF Grade), Mike Sainristil (55.4), Noah Igbinoghene (56.6) and Emmanuel Forbes Jr. (34.9). Simply put, none of these dudes can ball. Getting Bateman at +320 on FanDuel when the same bet is +267 on Pinnacle? Sign me up.

Steelers-Raiders Anytime Touchdown Scorer Bet for Week 6

Pick by Danny Burke.

It’s a bit risky to back a player who hasn’t scored a touchdown entering Week 6 as an anytime touchdown scorer bet, but there’s a tempting price and solid data to support the selection. I’m talking about none other than George Pickens for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Pickens has yet to catch a touchdown pass, despite leading the team with six red zone targets. His expected touchdowns metric is set at two, and this week’s matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders presents as good a chance as any for him to break through.

The Raiders’ defense has struggled all season, particularly against the pass, allowing 1.6 receiving touchdowns per game to opposing wideouts.

While Justin Fields has had some recent red-zone struggles, he clearly trusts Pickens’ ability there and elsewhere on the field. I expect the Steelers to control the game, which should lead to multiple red zone opportunities where Pickens will be eager to grab his first score.

Aside from the statistical standpoint, his odds of +250 are incredibly attractive. I can’t pass up this potentially lucrative opportunity with a receiver who’s overdue for a touchdown.

Buccaneers-Saints Anytime Touchdown Scorer Bet for Week 6

Pick by Isaiah Sirois.

There won’t be many weeks this season that Alvin Kamara is in the plus money to score a touchdown. Sure, it’s a new quarterback under center for the New Orleans Saints in rookie Spencer Rattler, but the Tampa Bay Buccaneers aren’t exactly lighting it up defensively. They rank 25th in expected points added (EPA) allowed per play.

Another factor potentially keeping this number closer to even is Kamara’s inability to find the end zone against this defense since 2021. However, that’s unfair to Kamara — he missed one of these matchups in 2022 and was making his season debut in 2023. That’s all noise, not signal.

Kamara is a high-volume guy in the red zone. He has six touchdowns to his name this season on a team-high two targets and another team-high 18 carries. When the Saints get close to paydirt, I expect them to use their trust veteran running back before forcing their rookie quarterback to make tough decisions.

This bet also comes down to the price. Kamara is +105 to score at DraftKings. No other book has this above even. FanDuel is at -115. ESPN BET is at -120. Pinnacle, a sharp book, is at -103. This isn’t the biggest pricing disparity, but it’s one well worth exploiting as part of your NFL anytime touchdown betting strategy.
