NFL Week 8 Anytime Touchdown Scorers | Best Bets for Sunday, October 27

Picks by Danny Burke.

Eagles-Bengals Anytime Touchdown Scorer Bet for Week 8

A.J. Brown has played just three games this season, but he’s managed to find the end zone in each one. Remarkably, all three of his scores have come outside the red zone.

He’ll have another strong opportunity on Sunday against a Bengals defense allowing 1.6 receiving touchdowns per game. The Cincinnati secondary has struggled all season, and that trend could continue against Philadelphia’s talented receiving corps.

This game is projected to see a lot of points, with the total sitting around 48 – so let’s bank on arguably the best player on the field to get in on the action.

Browns-Ravens Anytime Touchdown Scorer Bet for Week 8

Jameis Winston has officially taken over quarterback duties in Cleveland, and let’s be honest – this should elevate the Browns’ offense. Mainly because it can’t get much worse than it was with Deshaun Watson as quarterback.

Winston is the epitome of volatility, but he brings a much-needed ability to stretch the field. This shift should create more opportunities for key players such as tight end David Njoku.

Last week, Njoku saw 14 targets, catching 10 passes for 76 yards and a touchdown. He dominated red zone looks with three targets, while no other receiver had more than one.

The Baltimore Ravens are allowing over six receptions and 77 receiving yards per game to opposing tight ends. Plus, there’s no Amari Cooper anymore, so that’s one less red-zone threat competing for targets. Let’s take advantage of this favorable price and see if Njoku remains Winston’s top target.

Seahawks-Bills Anytime Touchdown Scorer Bet for Week 8

Pick by Danny Burke.

Big news out of Seattle this week concerns wide receiver DK Metcalf, who is reportedly doubtful for the upcoming game against the Bills.

This could open doors for players like Jaxon Smith-Njigba. Interestingly, despite being viewed as the team’s third target, he’s actually tied with Tyler Lockett for the most red-zone targets, with seven each.

JSN has just one receiving touchdown this season, though his expected metrics suggest he should have closer to three. If there’s ever a game for him to meet those expectations, this is it.

Buffalo has allowed four receiving touchdowns over the last three weeks and PFF grades their pass coverage 29th in the NFL.

With Geno Smith averaging 40 pass attempts per game, there’s plenty of opportunity – let’s hope one of those finds JSN in the end zone to cash a 2/1 ticket on him scoring.

Broncos-Panthers Anytime Touchdown Scorer Bet for Week 8

Javonte Williams finally had the breakout performance he’d been looking for. In Week 7’s Thursday Night Football game, he rushed 14 times for 88 yards and two touchdowns against the Saints. That was his first time scoring this season.

He should have no issue carrying that momentum to his upcoming matchup against the lowly Carolina Panthers, who allow two rushing touchdowns per game (32nd). PFF ranks Carolina’s run defense 30th, and they sit 29th in both defensive rush EPA and defensive rush success rate.

Williams handled all of Denver’s red-zone snaps last game, and I expect that trend to continue. With the Panthers allowing touchdowns on 70% of defensive red-zone opportunities, Williams has a prime opportunity to find the end zone again.

Chargers-Saints Anytime Touchdown Scorer Bet For Week 8

Following a 4-0 result on our anytime touchdown bets during last week’s main slate, we only needed J.K. Dobbins to complete the 5-0 sweep. Unfortunately, Dobbins didn’t receive any red-zone handoffs, nor did his team score any touchdowns. However, that should change against the New Orleans Saints.

The Saints’ defense has regressed, particularly against the run, allowing 5.4 yards per carry, which is tied for the highest in the league, and ranking 31st in overall run defense according to PFF.

What really stands out is that New Orleans has surrendered five rushing touchdowns in their last three games. As long as the Chargers can penetrate the Saints’ territory, Dobbins should be well-positioned for success in the red zone.

Best NFL Week 8 Anytime Touchdown Scorer Bet: J.K. Dobbins -120 at Hard Rock.
