The Baltimore Ravens added to their wide receiver room in the offseason, but, because of injuries, we haven’t gotten to see the unit at full strength that much. So is Odell Beckham Jr. playing? He wasn’t available last week, but he logged limited practice sessions all week before picking up a questionable tag. Let’s look at the most recent Odell Beckham Jr. injury updates as we assess whether he will be available in Week 5.

Head coach John Harbaugh gave Beckham a questionable tag for Sunday’s Ravens-Steelers game, but, according to the wide receiver, he’ll be out there on Sunday. “Yes, I expect to be out there,” he told reporters on Friday, describing his injury absence as merely “preventative.” The Ravens are smart to be careful with Beckham, who is now in his age-31 season.
Is Odell Beckham Jr. Playing for Baltimore in Week 5?
So is Odell Beckham Jr. playing for Baltimore in Week 5? Although the receiver sounds confident, it’s up to Harbaugh and company. The Ravens already expect to get Rashod Bateman back, as he was a full participant in practice all week. Bateman rejoins a receiving room anchored by tight end Mark Andrews and rookie Zay Flowers.
Because the Ravens are now deep — and healthy, again — at receiver, Harbaugh can afford to be careful with Beckham. Even if his absence was “preventative,” it’s the head coach is unlikely to push the issue if he feels comfortable about the team’s depth. It’s also possible that the Ravens choose to have Beckham active but keep him on a snap count.

Even though Beckham expects to play, he is unlikely to play a major role on offense this week. The Ravens have a surplus of alternative weapons and have no incentive to get too aggressive wit the 30-year-old veteran. If you’re thinking about buying the over for any of his player props, I would pass.
