The Baltimore Ravens got some concerning news at the wide receiver position this week. Rookie standout Zay Flowers and veteran Odell Beckham Jr. were both listed as questionable on Friday. While it sounds like Flowers is good to go, things are less clear with OBJ. So is Odell Beckham Jr. playing on Sunday? Let’s look at the most recent Odell Beckham Jr. injury updates as we assess whether he will be playing in Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Chargers. Odell Beckham Jr. Injury Update: Is Baltimore’s Wide Receiver Playing on Sunday?
Odell Beckham Jr. Injury Update
The Baltimore Ravens took a beating in last week’s win over the Cincinnati Bengals. Although the Bengals lost their starting quarterback, Joe Burrow, the Ravens suffered several injuries of their own, including a likely season-ender for tight end Mark Andrews and smaller injuries to Zay Flowers and Odell Beckham Jr. Beckham is now questionable after this week of practice.
Beckham was a non-participant on Wednesday, but he managed to get in limited reps on Thursday before practicing fully on Friday. Beckham has been described as a “game-time decision” for this week’s edition of Sunday Night Football by himself, so it’s unclear where he or the coaching staff are at with his status.
Is Odell Beckham Jr. Playing for Baltimore on Sunday?
So is Odell Beckham Jr. playing for the Ravens on Sunday night? I’ll take the star receiver at his word. He’ll likely need to go through pre-game warmups to see how comfortable he is before suiting up in a big spot for the Ravens. Although the Ravens are now pressed for depth at pass-catcher with Andrews out and Flowers also nursing an injury, they shouldn’t feel a need to rush Beckham back. Nelson Agholor, Rashod Bateman and Devin Duvernay have looked solid this year, and Isaiah Likely is ready to fill in at tight end.
If you’re skeptical of Beckham’s ability to get back on the field, consider backing one of Baltimore’s other receivers on the player prop markets. You’ll find Flowers’ receiving yardage total set to 63.5 on bet365, which is a bit high, but the Los Angeles Chargers are allowing nearly 200 receiving yards per game to wideouts. If you’re new to bet365, you can get $150 in bets after betting $5 — or up to $1,000 in bonus bets back if your first wager loses — and if you’re a Louisiana resident, you can take advantage of the sportsbook’s recent launch for $365 in bonus bets after betting $1!
