Packers-Eagles Player Prop Pick for Josh Jacobs

We started out 2-0 on NFL picks last night, cashing both our over for Justice Hill receiving yards and our Derrick Henry anytime touchdown prop on the first drive. For all my bets in real time, subscribe to The Profit Isaiah.

Last year, the Eagles had a down year defensively. But while they struggled in plenty of areas, the ground game was a point of strength. Philadelphia allowed the ninth-fewest rushing yards per game to opposing running backs (78.8).

The Packers made a splash by getting Josh Jacobs in the offseason, but he now has the unenviable task of dealing with this rock-solid Philadelphia defensive front. Nose tackle Jordan Davis and defensive tackle Jalen Carter will be a huge problem in the middle.

Davis ended last season ranked seventh among all interior defensive linemen in run-stop win rate (40%). He did so despite facing a double team 53% of the time, which was the most of any top-10 interior defensive lineman.

Meanwhile, the Packers had no offensive linemen inside the top 10 at run-block win rate at their position. Sure, their guys are great at pass blocking, but run blocking is not a point of strength for them.

Look for Davis to control the point of attack. If the Packers send two men his way on rushing downs, then Philadelphia’s other linemen and linebackers should have an easy job stopping Jacobs, who generated only 1.5 yards after contact per carry, which ranked 43rd of 48 players with at least 107 rushing attempts.

Packers-Eagles Anytime Touchdown Bet for the NFL Brazil Game

I struggled to pick an anytime touchdown bet for this Packers-Eagles game since I think both defenses will look a lot better this year than they did last year, so we’re going to go with a too-long price for veteran tight end Dallas Goedert.

The Eagles obviously lost center Jason Kelce in the offseason, and they’re replace him with Cam Jurgens, who hasn’t impressed me much as an interior offensive lineman. Plays that would’ve been the tush push last year could easily become short throws this year.

That could mean more red-zone volume for Goedert, who already ranked second on the Eagles in red-zone targets last year with 10, trailing only wide receiver A.J. Brown.

This Packers defense should be very different with a new defensive coordinator at the helm and a pair of new safeties in the mix, but most of the linebackers are the same, and this team was tied for the sixth-most touchdowns allowed to tight ends last year with seven.

Let’s lock in Goedert at odds of +240 to find paydirt. Most books have this between +200 and +230, save for FanDuel and Hard Rock.
