The Aaron Rodgers “Pat McAfee Show” Admission Has Jets Super Bowl Odds Moving

Many more viewers tuned into the “Pat McAfee Show” on Wednesday afternoon. The reason? Future Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers appeared for his weekly interview on the show amid all the rumors that he is close to being dealt to the New York Jets. With over 400,000 viewers on the Youtube channel, Rodgers spoke about the process that led him to realize that his tenure with the Green Bay Packers is now over.

At the end of his comments, Rodgers made an admission that will make Jets fans and futures bettors very happy.

“Since Friday, my intention was to play and play for the NY Jets,” Rodgers said on the show.

Aaron Rodgers’ Interview Has Fans Slamming Jets Futures

Per DraftKings Sportsbook, the Jets’ Super Bowl odds have moved since Rodgers spoke on his current plans. Since the Rodgers-Jets rumors have surfaced, the odds have moved from 28-1 to 16-1 for the Jets to win the Super Bowl. Now, those odds are up to 14-1. They are behind just the Kansas City Chiefs (6-1), San Francisco 49ers (7-1), Buffalo Bills (17-2), Philadelphia Eagles (17-2), Cincinnati Bengals (9-1) and Dallas Cowboys (14-1).

PointsBet Sportsbook has revealed that the Jets have more Super Bowl bets placed on them this offseason than any other NFL team.

Rodgers won back-to-back MVP Awards in the 2020-21 & 2021-22 seasons but took a step back last season when dealing with new weapons on offense. He still completed 64.9% of his passes for 3,695 yards, 26 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. His 12 interceptions were his most since 2008, his first full season as the starting quarterback.

The Packers (35-1 to win the Super Bowl on DraftKings) are now set to move forward with Jordan Love as their quarterback. Rodgers claimed the Packers initiated the discussion about a potential trade this offseason, saying that the dynamic changed since he returned from his darkness retreat earlier in the month.

Rodgers was in a similar situation ad Love now finds himself in 2008 when Brett Favre departed from Green Bay in the offseason.

“You don’t know you’re ready until you’re in that position,” Rodgers said after the season-ending loss to Detroit, per SI. “I remember the day I was sleeping in San Diego and woke up to 50 text messages that Brett (Favre) had retired. Then the emotions hit you. ‘Oh, man, now I’m the guy.’”

After the “Pat McAfee Show” interview on Wednesday, it sure looks like Aaron Rodgers will be the next quarterback of the Jets. Their Super Bowl odds reflect that the QB has a really solid chance to win his second Super Bowl championship next season.
