Thursday Night Football Same Game Parlay – Vikings-Eagles Parlay

Vikings-Eagles Parlay Following Kenneth Gainwell Injury

The first leg should be the most obvious whenever any Eagles running back goes down; Jalen Hurts anytime TD. The Birds signal caller — and last year’s MVP runner-up — is already a TD vulture for any back on the team. Hurts is so dangerous with his feet it doesn’t matter if he’s 1, 10, or 40 yards out,  he can break one.

The Eagles won’t be pushing for Hurts to get more carries in the actual gameplan but the amount already built in — plus any freestyling out there — is enough to maintain the threat. Minnesota will claim to do everything possible to neutralize Hurts but the reality is the easiest thing to control for the Birds QB, and for the Eagles as a team for that matter, is running the ball. It’s their bread & butter with their big offensive line. So while one or maybe two backs can benefit from a thinner position group, Hurts is still the best “back” on the team.

Next up? One of those backs. D’Andre Swift did not have a great game against the Patriots, especially in the passing game. Expect that to change out of necessity more than anything else. The Eagles brought Swift in to share some of the ground load, but also be a functional part of the passing game. With more attention paid by the Vikings to stopping Hurts, Swift should have some chances to score off the RPO or out of the backfield on a quick pass  Hurts has no choice but to rely a little more on Swift this week, so jump on his anytime TD along with his QB.

The last leg is simply taking the Eagles to win this game on the moneyline. They have way too many injuries, including starting safety Reed Blankenship, as their depth will be exposed. The good news is exposing the Vikings wont take much from the Eagles offense as they still have a high-powered Hurts.

The Vikings most likely cover a 7-point spread (down to 6.5) as they arent dealing with as many injuries. Justin Jefferson will test the Eagles secondary so the bigger issue is pass rush on Kirk Cousins. It’s still a primetime game for Cousins and the Eagles pass rush has waves of guys to send at the Vikings front. Even if it’s which QB makes the bigger mistake, the safe money is on Cousins.
