Trevor Lawrence Injury Update

When Trevor Lawrence went down last week, many analysts were wondering whether would see the quarterback again this season. The good news is that the high-ankle sprain he suffered isn’t season-ending, but the bad news is that it usually holds players out for at least one game. Lawrence has been listed as questionable for Sunday.

To Lawrence’s credit, the quarterback has managed to participate more in practice more this week than almost anyone expected. He sat out on Wednesday but was a limited participant on both Thursday and Friday. Lawrence’s backup, C.J. Beathard, has also been limited in practice all week.

Head coach Doug Pederson said Lawrence would “probably” be a game-time decision on Sunday. “He’s feeling good, we’ll see,” Pederson said on Friday. However, the Jaguars signed third-string quarterback Nathan Rourke to their active roster on Saturday.

Latest Trevor Lawrence Injury Update (8:20 AM Eastern): Trevor Lawrence is expected to play on Sunday.

Is Trevor Lawrence Playing for Jacksonville on Sunday?

So, is Trevor Lawrence playing on Sunday? I don’t think so. Sure, he was a limited participant in practice on Thursday and Friday, and sure, Pederson acknowledged that he had trended so far in the right direction that he is already a game-time decision.

The Rourke signing is a big deal, however. When a team adds its third-string quarterback to the active roster, it usually suggests an intend to have that player work as the backup that weekend.

The new emergency quarterback rule complicates this a bit because said player must be on the active 53-man roster, so it’s possible the Jaguars are hedging their bets with both Lawrence and Beathard dealing with injuries.

Very few betting markets are open on this game at bet365 and across the market. But if you’re skeptical of Lawrence’s ability to return — or his ability to return at a high enough level to compete — consider backing the Browns as a field-goal home favorite for +100 on bet365.

If you’re new to bet365, you can get $150 in bets after betting $5 — or up to $1,000 in bonus bets back if your first wager loses — and if you’re a Louisiana resident, you can take advantage of the sportsbook’s recent launch for $365 in bonus bets after betting $1!
