Tyler Lockett Injury Update

Geno Smith and the Seattle Seahawks could be without star wide receiver Tyler Lockett this weekend. Lockett has been nursing a hamstring injury that held him out of practice all week. Although Lockett has been nursing the injury for several weeks now, he hasn’t missed a full week of practice yet this season.

The closest Lockett came to missing a full week came back in Week 8. Lockett was a non-participant on Wednesday and Thursday but logged a full practice on Friday before going on to lead the Seahawks in receptions (8) and receiving yards (81). But because we didn’t see him on Friday this week, that outcome may not be in the cards.

Head coach Pete Caroll described Lockett as “day-to-day” on Friday before giving him a questionable tag. He also noted that it was uncertain whether Lockett would suit up, so the injury designation is more than a mere formality.

Is Tyler Lockett Playing for Seattle on Sunday?

So is Tyler Lockett playing for Seattle on Sunday? I’d say he has worse than 50/50 odds to suit up, Players who miss a full week of practice but pick up a questionable tag rarely play. Lockett is a veteran, which is generally the main exception to that rule, but the Seahawks must play again on Thursday, and they’ll have to take on a divisional foe in the San Francisco 49ers.

With Lockett questionable and trending in the wrong direction, bet365 is listing the Seahawks as a 1.5-point home underdog to the Rams. Lockett is not listed on their player prop markets. Teammate DK Metcalf played two games without Lockett last year, catching six and seven passes, but his receptions total sits at 5.5 with the over in the plus money over there. New to bet365?
