The Miami Dolphins have a gauntlet of a schedule to conclude the regular season. They’ll play the Dallas Cowboys, Baltimore Ravens and Buffalo Bills, in that order, before the postseason begins. Some questions remain about whether they’ll have wide receiver Tyreek Hill on Sunday, so let’s look at the most recent Tyreek Hill injury updates as we assess whether he will be playing. Tyreek Hill Injury Update

The Miami Dolphins lost Tyreek Hill to an ankle injury in a brutal loss to the Tennessee Titans, who have since been eliminated from playoff contention. The Dolphins bounced back with a blowout win over the New York Jets, but they’ll now have to take on a real team, the Dallas Cowboys, on Sunday.

Hill missed every practice before last week’s game, so it’s encouraging that he was a limited participant on both Thursday and Friday of this week. He still missed Wednesday’s practice and picked up a questionable tag, however, so it’s no sure thing that he’ll suit up. Head coach Mike McDaniel can’t risk bringing back his star receiver so early with the Dolphins gearing up for a postseason run.

On Friday, McDaniel told reporters that Hill “had a good week, no setbacks.” He added that he “fe[lt] good about him.” As of Saturday afternoon, insiders reported “optimism” in the Miami camp about Hill.

Is Tyreek Hill Playing for Miami on Sunday?

So, is Tyreek Hill playing for the Dolphins on Sunday? I’d put it close to a coin flip. Hill has made excellent progress this week, and the lack of a setback means he has a real shot to play. Still, McDaniel and Hill will probably need to see how pre-game warmups go before making a final decision.

The sports betting markets seem optimistic about Hill’s status, too. The Dolphins are trading as 1.5-point home favorites over the Cowboys. The receiving yardage markets are open for player prop bettors, and Hill’s total is sitting at a whopping 90.5 on bet365. Jaylen Waddle clocks in at 66.5, which, considering he racked up 142 last week without Hill, certainly suggests the books are expecting Hill to play.

The near-100% confidence the market has in Hill’s ability feels more than a little inefficient to me. Sure, he’ll probably suit up — but what if he doesn’t? Further, what if he does suit up but in a limited role — or, you know, he re-injures himself? I don’t think I can justify betting Hill to stay under the 90.5, but a wager on Waddle to beat the 66.5 for odds of -110 at bet365 has some appeal. If you’re new to bet365, you can get $150 in bets after betting $5 — or up to $1,000 in bonus bets back if your first wager loses.
