Travis Etienne Jr. H/L Than 12.5 Rushing Attempts

If the Jaguars are going to steal this one on the road, it’s not coming via a shootout. The best practice for road dogs remains holding on to the ball to quiet both the Bills offense and the crowd. The latter will be a major victory in its own right. Being 0-2, Jacksonville isn’t lighting it up — in fact, quarterback Trevor Lawrence has looked off and regressed, while Doug Pederson’s offense looks clunky.

This is a solid spot to return to a basic principle of opening up some passing lanes for Lawrence with the running game. By giving Travis Etienne Jr. his share of the workload, especially carrying that on the ground, the Jaguars can soften some of the immediate pressure on passing downs. Etienne can help control the clock too with a concerted effort for Pederson to return to running the ball. While Etienne is hovering at this exact projection on average after two games, this game plan should feature him more on the ground — near the 15- to 16-carry mark. That’s enough to push him higher than 12.5.

Mike Gesicki H/L Than 28.5 Receiving Yards

The second game is all about the Bengals bouncing back from a brutal two-game stretch where they played good enough last week to compete — just not enough to win. That is expected to change with a spread north of 7 points tonight in Cincinnati, and as the world focuses on Ja’Marr Chase and his connection with Joe Burrow, we see another angle for success.

The better play is Mike Gesicki going over his receiving yards in an area where he can find spots within the Commanders defense.

Even in that ridiculous loss to the Patriots, the Bengals found Gesicki in open space. His target share increased exponentially last week and should be in a healthy spot this week with so much focus on Chase.

The good news for Gesicki is he filled voids for other receivers dealing with injury and established a good connection with Burrow. Every team is heavily focused on slowing down Chase, but even with some defensive pressure, Gesicki becomes an option as a release underneath. He will be out there.
