The Buffalo Bills made the long trip to London this weekend, and their star pass rusher went with them. But because we haven’t seen him at all this year, we should ask: is Von Miller playing? The star pass rusher has said he expects to suit up. Let’s look at the most recent Von Miller injury updates as we assess whether he will be available in Week 5.
Von Miller Injury Update: Is Buffalo’s Star Playing Sunday?
Von Miller Injury Update
Updated on October 8 at 8:50 am: The latest Von Miller Injury Update has the veteran active and playing on Sunday.
The Buffalo Bills made a splash to acquire the veteran pass rusher before last season, but he went down with a season-ending injury late in the year, and their pass rush never looked the same afterward. The Bills added Leonard Floyd in the offseason, and, if Von Miller is healthy, the two could light up Jacksonville’s offensive line.

Miller was a limited participant in practice all week as he works his way back from his ACL injury. Head coach Sean McDermott told reporters that they’re taking Miller’s recovery “one day at a time” earlier in the week, but he also noted a positive trend between Miller’s first practice and his second.
But if you ask Miller, he is a sure thing to play against the Jaguars in London. “I think that’s a safe bet,” he told reporters when asked if he would suit up, giving himself a “94.5% chance” to suit up. However, the ultimate decision isn’t Miller’s — it’s up to McDermott, and McDermott gave Miller a questionable tag.
Is Von Miller Playing for Buffalo in Week 5?
So is Von Miller playing for Buffalo in London? Again, it sounds like he’ll be good to go — but nothing is for certain. The Bills should be careful with the 34-year-old veteran, especially after how bad their pass rush looked without him last season. If anything happened to Miller and Floyd, the Bills would be back at square one.
Still, the Bills have already ruled out defensive end Gregory Rousseau, which means they could use the depth that Miller provides. But even if Miller does suit up, don’t expect him to work on a full snap count — instead, expect McDermott to slowly ramp up his involvement in this defense.
