Will Levis NFL Draft Odds: New Betting Line Offers Clarity

The Will Levis NFL Draft odds have been a topic of conversation over the past few days. Although Alabama quarterback Bryce Young had taken over as the heavy favorite to go No. 1, Levis saw a spike in his odds just ahead of the draft on Thursday. But bettors saw a different, more sensical betting line for Levis on Thursday that should just about put any of the Carolina Panthers rumors to bed.

Will Levis NFL Draft Odds: Don’t Expect Kentucky QB at No. 1

Levis was a heavy underdog to go No. 1 overall until Wednesday morning when a Reddit user claimed to have insider knowledge that the gunslinger had been told by the Panthers he was their guy. The Will Levis NFL Draft odds immediately came off the board at DraftKings Sportsbook, with the number dropping all the way down to +500 on FanDuel Sportsbook.

The conspiracy surrounding Levis appears to have sorted itself out. Young (-1600) is back to being the heavy favorite go first overall, with Levis (+800 on DraftKings) back to a sizable underdog. Ohio State’s C.J. Stroud is also sitting at +800 a day before the draft.

Through the NFL Draft process, the Panthers have been in contact with four quarterbacks: Young, Stroud, Levis and Florida quarterback Anthony Richardson. Panthers head coach Frank Reich says he has reached an agreement with general manager Scott Fitterer on who they will be selecting, although he is not ready to reveal the pick just yet.

“[Fitterer] actually came in my office yesterday at some point and asked the question, kind of like a proposal of sorts. And I said ‘Yes.’ There is consensus and we’re excited,” Reich told Yahoo Sports.

The smart money is on Young going first overall. The shifty quarterback impressed scouts over the past two seasons under center in Tuscaloosa, throwing for 80 touchdowns to go along with just 12 interceptions. He added 185 yards rushing and four touchdowns on the ground in the 2022 season.

The one knock on Young is  his size. At just 6-foot, 194 pounds, Young would be among the smallest starting quarterbacks in the NFL. But he makes up for those shortcomings in the talent department and should serve as a productive franchise quarterback in today’s offensive-friendly league.

Pretty much every mock draft (including OddsShopper’s official mock) has Young going first overall to the Panthers on Thursday night. And while the commotion on social media this week made for some interesting line movements, the latest Will Levis NFL Draft odds show it is much more likely he will fall to one of the other quarterback-needy teams with a top pick.
