Patrick Kane-Joe Pavelski Fantasy Hockey & DFS Rankings
Per Stokastic’s expert fantasy hockey & DFS rankings, Joe Pavelski ($5,900 on the DraftKings DFS main slate) projects to have 14.10 fantasy hockey points on Wednesday night. Patrick Kane ($5,800) projects out at just 10.91 points. The Ownership Projection tool shows Pavelski being rostered in 33.6% of DFS lineups, with Kane only being rostered in 9.2%.
The broadcast will likely be heavily focused on Kane considering he is currently playing in his final contract year with the rebuilding Blackhawks. Kane has a no-trade clause, and the team has maintained throughout the season that it will be entirely up to the future Hall of Famer if he wants to stay or be dealt to a contender prior to next month’s deadline.
“I don’t know. I think if I knew that, I’d probably make the decision already,” he said when asked about a potential trade earlier in the week, per The Fourth Period. “So we’ll see.”
Kane has just 14 goals and 28 assists on the season but has gotten hot of late, tallying a point in each of the last two games (including a hat trick in a win over the Toronto Maple Leafs on Sunday night). But he will be playing in the second night of a back-to-back and might have his minutes cut into.
Joe Pavelski has similar stats to Kane, ranking third on the team in points (50) and fourth in goals (14). Pavelski has only tallied two points in the month of February thus far but will have the luxury of going up against a weak Chicago defense on Wednesday night.
While it might be easy for fantasy hockey & DFS players to go with Patrick Kane over Joe Pavelski tonight, it’s actually the veteran Stars forward who ranks with a better chance to break through in the Blackhawks-Stars matchup.
