2023 Scottish Open Odds & Bets

2023 Scottish Open Outright Bet: Tyrrell Hatton (22-1, DraftKings)

There is nothing wrong with jumping right into the Scottie Scheffler or Rory McIlroy numbers, as they rightfully are inside 10-1 to win the event. However, it is an interesting betting board with some big names at the top, but the depth of the field is not overly strong. Hatton at 22-1 in particular is a great spot as he heads into a stretch of links golf.

Hatton knows how to deal with the elements of links golf and comes in with some positive results in recent events. He was 12th at Memorial, third in Canada and found the weekend at the U.S. Open, finishing 27th. If his putter continues to gain like it has in 2023, there is no reason he cannot get in the mix and win at a course that suits his game. Hatton is set up for a good stretch of results to close out the season and makes sense here at 22-1.

2023 Scottish Open Outright Bet: Sungjae Im (48-1, FanDuel)

Unlike Hatton, who should fit this course, it is much less clear what bettors should expect from Im. In theory, this should be a good setup, as it is not overly reliant on distance and the erratic weather conditions can help a guy this well rounded. However, no top-20 finishes over the last six events cause some concern about Im’s form. On the positive side, he does seem to be working out of it, with a 29th and 24th in the last two events he has played, mostly due to quality short game.

All the concerns and unknowns make it a scary click, but Im has a nice price because of this. It is pretty reasonable to think that, if he came in with some top finishes, Im’s number would be closer to Hatton in the mid 20-1 range rather than nearly 50-1. Although links golf has not yielded much success yet for Im, he has all the skills to tackle this type of layout. He is getting a great number due to some issues, and with the right weather draw, Im can get in the hunt come Sunday.

2023 Scottish Open Outright Bet: Rasmus Hojgaard (75-1, DraftKings)

One of the many difficult challenges heading to Europe is the mix between the PGA golfers and the DP World Tour players. Obviously, most of the top of the board is made up of PGA players, but that does not mean they are the only ones with a chance to win this event. Hojgaard at 75-1, for example, absolutely has what it takes to beat this field.

Hojgaard is just 22, but he already has a handful of European Tour victories on his resume. The name might sound familiar, as he has a twin brother who has been in PGA Tour fields in recent weeks. Hojgaard is playing fantastic golf and actually picked up a win just last week in Denmark. In addition, he was 10th at this event last year and has plenty of experience playing links golf. Hojgaard has the talent to win against the best players in the world, and 75-1 is long enough to take a shot.
