The PGA Tour heads to Arizona for the WM Phoenix Open, and with it comes huge opportunities. This is a staple of the early PGA Tour season, with rowdy crowds, strong fields and a boatload of cash up for grabs. Given this is an elevated event, it’s a key week in One and Done pools, which makes the selection that much more important.

Let’s dive into the potential One and Done Targets for the WM Phoenix Open this week. And if you’re betting the event, you can place just $5 on any golfer and DraftKings will automatically award $200 in bonus bets for first-time users!

WM Phoenix Open One and Done Picks

Safe One and Done Pick: Scottie Scheffler

Scottie Scheffler is not only the defending champion, but he also has all the tools for a good One and Done selection. He rarely misses a cut, and even when he does not have his best stuff, he seems to rally come Sunday. He proved last year that his well-rounded game fits this TPC Scottsdale layout, and it should not be any different this year. Scheffler obviously can win against the best players in the world given he has a green jacket in the closet, so there isn’t much to worry about here. The only real question is whether or not to save him for majors later on.

Contrarian One and Done Pick: Tyrrell Hatton

This certainly is not a top end name considering the field strength, but Hatton deserves to be in the conversation for an against-the-grain One and Done pick. He has one appearance at the Phoenix Open, finishing 15th, but this is a good setup for him. Hatton won at the Arnold Palmer, and he can get red hot with the putter on Bermuda greens. Since he has been playing in Europe to start the season, Hatton will not be on most people’s radars, and he can contend against the best of the best any given week. Hatton is one of the best sneaky plays this week, and he could come in at extremely low ownership in One and Done pools.

Ben’s One and Done Pick: Justin Thomas

Maverick McNealy withdrew last week, which banked $0. With $3.6 million in the prize pool this week, it is better to get a guy with legit win equity, and Justin Thomas offers that. His 2023 so far has been uneventful, mostly due to a lackluster driving performance. His around-the-green game is as good as any on tour, and he has a quality track record at this event, with several first page leaderboard finishes. If Thomas dials in the ball striking, he easily can get in the mix, and the outright boards reflect that with his 20-1 odds. Although it would be nice to have him for majors, this is still a seven-figure payday for One and Done.
