DraftKings Pick6 Predictions: The Charles Schawb Challenge

Let’s avoid the PGA hangover as we find tremendous value this week in Texas. The Charles Schwab Challenge features another look at the world’s best in Scottie Scheffler, along with a course that demands patience and accuracy over distance and power. We return to Colonial for a short game paradise, fresh off a 2 for 3 card last week at the PGA Championship. Here are this week’s top PGA plays on Draftkings Pick6.

Here’s the lowdown on DraftKings Pick6: It is meant to mirror most pick’em sites, allowing you to build a two- to six-leg entry with larger payouts for more correct choices. However, the new product is peer-to-peer, meaning the strategy lies in beating other players in pre-selected tournaments rather than beating the house, making it important to be contrarian! DraftKings Pick6 Charles Schwab Challenge Picks

Sepp Straka B/W Than 36.5 Finishing Position

Editor’s Note: Use the promo code DINGER for to snag our industry-leading OddsShopper Premium for ONLY $1. With the industry average being $200 for such a product, and our usual fee being ONLY $50, this is an absolute steal for all levels of bettors.

This is a fantastic number to beat for a golfer who should thrive here at Colonial Country Club. Sepp Straka is deadly with approach shots 200 or less, and capable of working the course over just muscling drives. The field will see plenty of Par 4s – half of the course – ranging from 450 or less. Beatable numbers only if you set up second shots to avoid the tree line. We target a guy in Straka who fits this type of course, like a T5 finish this year at Harbour Town.

This course is short and the two Par 5s negate each other with absurd length and one of the shorter P5s on TOUR. It’s just as easy to birdie one as it is to bogey the other. We find great value with Straka fitting the proper mold of success here, and think he’s live to win outright. Let’s settle for a T36 finish, knowing he’s in control of his tee shots and familiar with the Bent grass on the green.

DraftKings Pick6 Prediction: Sepp Straka BETTER Than 36.5 Finishing Position

Andrew Putnam B/W Than 36.5 Finishing Position

Not much changes here as we look to tail another short game success story in Andrew Putnam. What we target at Colonial won’t change from golfer to golfer. If anyone struggles with accuracy off the tee or approach shots from 200 or less, then it’s a massive red flag. This is clearly a familiar course to Putnam with a couple of T15s over the past five years.

Beyond course history is how he got there, the metrics or skills that generated chances to finish that well. This is the same number for Straka above as both golfers are massively undervalued here with a 36.5 finishing position. There are multiple areas – much like Straka – that fit for Putnam on the course.

Be it his ability to shape off the tee or set up scoring chances from a 175 yard approach shot, even the comfort on Bent grass. We like Putnam to battle for a T20 spot this weekend.

Let’s jump on a BETTER than 36.5 finishing position once again, targeting Putnam’s attempt to take this tournament down. He was close, a T3 in 2019.

CT Pan B/W Than 36.5 Holes Completed

Just make the cut! Is it truly a discussion about a short gamer’s holy grail without bringing up CT Pan? A staple in the short game streets, we love Pan to simply continue playing golf over the weekend. In the six years that Pan has played Colonial, he’s fared well making four cuts. This year we target the course history and – much like Putnam – how Pan is able to navigate the course.

If you just wanted to focus on one area where Pan can excel against the field, look no further than the Par 4s ranging 350-450 yards. We see a total sense of comfort on the shorter P4s, which again are riddled throughout Colonial. He isn’t rising to the top of this field, scoring on these P4s in bunches, without having a handle on where to place his tee shot to set up the hole. He knows the greens and has a solid approach game – gaining strokes in that category in each of the six visits to Colonial. We like number 7 to be just as good, or lucky.
