DraftKings Pick6 Predictions: The Masters Picks

Ladies and gentlemen, we made it. The world of golf can best describe the Masters to outsiders as a combination of the Super Bowl, Daytona 500 and the first four days of the NCAA Tournament. That still comes up a little short. This is everything in golf and why everyone invited is pushing for a green jacket — some adding to their collection. The field boasts Scottie Scheffler, currently on a Tiger Woods-esque tear.

Speaking of Woods; we not only get to see him play this week, but we also have a specific play for him below. Let’s look at the top three DraftKings Pick6 predictions for this week’s Masters!

Here’s the lowdown on DraftKings Pick6: It is meant to mirror most pick’em sites, allowing you to build a two- to six-leg entry with larger payouts for more correct choices. However, the new product is peer-to-peer, meaning the strategy lies in beating other players in pre-selected tournaments rather than beating the house, making it important to be contrarian! DraftKings Pick6 Predictions and Masters Picks

Tiger Woods M/L Than 36.5 Holes Completed

Will Woods make the cut? This is a fantastic market to bet on Pick6 because everyone has the same implied odds. Woods has had success here, unlike anyone other than Jack Nicklaus. Woods has five Masters victories, but Nicklaus’ record of six is safe this week. Unfortunately, Woods’ ability to hold up over four days is closer to Nicklaus right now than the 21-year-old who dominated the 1997 field.

What are we doing here? Woods has withdrawn in two of his last three events, one of those being Augusta. He’s going to be an overwhelmingly popular play, mainly in markets like this one. Nobody in their right mind is going to bet Woods to win, but making the cut seems far more feasible. It’s not. Woods has shown he can’t hold up, and his game needs to be sharp on top of his body. Hard pass here.

DraftKings Pick6 Prediction: Tiger Woods LESS Than 36.5 Holes Completed

Stephan Jaeger M/L Than 36.5 Holes Completed

The last time a newcomer won the Masters was back in 1979. We don’t anticipate Stephan Jaeger becoming the next Fuzzy Zoeller, but Jaeger should at the very least make the cut. We are getting a slight benefit here in Jaeger being a good fit for this course while only needing to do two days’ worth of work.

Once Jaeger makes this cut at Augusta, he will cash this play. He comes off a masterful performance at Houston, gaining strokes in all areas — including an impressive improvement on the green. While he struggled in Florida, he should feel more at home in Georgia.

He has distance to score on longer par 4’s and should challenge the par 5’s. If he can grab one or two exceptional putts, Jaeger has a shot to lead after one.

DraftKings Pick6 Prediction: Stephen Jaeger MORE Than 36.5 Holes Completed

Nicolai Hojgaard M/L Than 36.5 Holes Completed

We are doubling down with our debutants this week. To be fair, we are taking two solid course fits to simply make the cut, another not too large ask for Nicolai Hojgaard. The 23-year-old torched the European Tour and followed it with a second-place finish at the Farmers. Hojgaard hasn’t been the same since, but we’ve seen some flashes of the same play that netted three Euro Tour top-10s, including a win at the Hero.

It’s hard to explain away whatever is happening on the greens. Hojgaard has been absolutely dreadful. He’s lost a considerable number of strokes putting, but the bentgrass won’t be as demanding this week. It moves fast and will be tricky, but Augusta has seen a handful of poor putters survive and win. He just needs a made cut.

The course fit centers around Hojgaard’s ability to strike for distance and gain strokes on the approach. In fact, if he can settle slightly by gaining — at least not losing — strokes around the green, Hojgaard is in great position to play over the weekend.
