No weeks off on the PGA Tour, meaning we have another tournament to breakdown this week. The Charles Schwab Challenge gets underway and it’s another opportunity to rack up some One and Done money. It’s not a major, but with 7 figures going to the winner it’s still important to try and find someone who will give us a chance at the big money. Let’s dive into a few options for this week’s PGA One and Done picks by making some of the best Charles Schwab Challenge picks and decisions.
Best Charles Schwab Challenge Picks | PGA One and Done Picks
Safe Pick: Tommy Fleetwood
Its pretty crazy that a guy with zero PGA Tour wins like Fleetwood can be considered this reliable, but the numbers do not lie. Each and every week Fleetwood tees it up he is putting together quality showings, and with that will eventually bring more and more chances to win on tour.
Fleetwood comes in off an 18th last week at the PGA and has a run of 8 straight made cuts. He gained strokes in every category, which is becoming the norm for his game lately. Coming to Colonial his irons and putting should once again produce a quality outing and this field is primed for him to contend. In addition to liking him in the betting markets I think he makes for a very logical One and Done choice this week.

Contrarian Pick: Cam Davis
Really rolling the dice here, but at this point in One and Done that might be what needs to be done. Most likely you have Davis available and its doubtful many people get to him considering all the other options in this field. We know the upside is there as the Aussie just Top 5’d at the PGA thanks to elite ball striking. Davis was 7th at this event last year and gained strokes across the board which is always a positive sign.
Given the layout of Colonial the bombers and aggressive OTT players usually aren’t the ideal players to thrive here. However, Cam Davis has shown he may actually benefit when forced to club down and this could be another example of that. He has a 3rd place finish at RBC Heritage and a 6th at The Players, both of which further this point that technical tracks could be good for a guy like Davis.
Ben’s One and Done Pick: Rickie Fowler
A lot of One and Done starts to be who do you have available as a lot guys are already used from earlier in the season. I’d say the majority of people have Rickie Fowler available and coming off last week he isn’t the name on most people’s minds. He was trending towards a big showing at The PGA and couldn’t get a single thing going in route to a missed cut. That halts some big momentum that Fowler showed this season, but I think he could get back to his quality form right away.
The PGA was the first time this year Fowler lost strokes with his irons and he added in a rough putting performance on top of it. Both of those I think will flip back immediately and with this 2023 ball striking a track like Colonial should perfect. Rickie has a ton of experience at this event, prefers Bentgrass, and benefits from the lack of emphasis off the tee here. With a ton of reasonable options I think Fowler is going to be lost and I’ll be going to him on a lot of my One and Done teams this week.
