Tiger Woods is set to make his return to the PGA Tour circuit at his host tournament, the Genesis Invitational, this weekend. But what can we really expect out of the GOAT given how long it has been since he has competed against the world’s best? The initial Tiger Woods Genesis Open odds revealed him as a heavy underdog, and that betting line is only continuing to go in the wrong direction ahead of the Thursday tee time.

Tiger Woods Genesis Invitational Odds Continue to Fall
DraftKings Sportsbook opened up the Tiger Woods Genesis Invitational odds at +10000 after he announced late last week he would be competing. Now, those odds are listed at a large +13000. Check out the full Genesis Open odds below, via DraftKings.
Woods met with the media earlier in the week. And while he always sounds confident he can compete to win (if he's in the field), the 47-year-old admitted that he'll be 'rusty'. It will mark the first time Woods joins the PGA field since he missed the cut at The Open last July. He was forced to pull out of an event in December due to plantar fasciitis in his right foot. His leg rehab from the notorious car crash in 2021 will also require attention for however long his professional golf career lasts.
"As far as the recovery, it's more my ankle, whether I can recover from day to day," Woods said during a news conference on Tuesday, per ESPN. "The leg is better than it was last year, but it's my ankle. So being able to have it recover from day to day and meanwhile still stress it but have the recovery and also have the strength development at the same time, it's been an intricate little balance that we've had to dance."
Woods competed with his son, Charlie Woods, in the PNC Championship in December, although he was able to use a cart to aid his plethora of lower-body injuries for that event.
"As you watch that PNC, I was able to play out of the cart and hit shots and do whatever I wanted, but I just didn't have the endurance in my ankle, so we've been working on that," Woods said. "I can still hit shots, but it's the walking endurance that's hard. That's something that we've had to work on -- walking distances on the beach, just basically stress it out but also be able to recover by the next day and see how it is inflammation-wise and then keep practicing. I may have overdone it a couple times here or there, but here I am."
Based on the Tiger Woods Genesis Invitational odds, he still has a lot to prove before we can put him into the upper echelon of a star-studded PGA field again. But it will be a welcome sight for golf fans everywhere to see him back out competing. And who are we to doubt what he can accomplish when he enters a tournament with confidence?
