Updated Masters Tournament Odds: Brooks Koepka & Jon Rahm Set For Epic Duel

The 2023 Masters is shaping up to be a two-horse race between Jon Rahm and Brooks Koepka, although poor weather is taking over the bulk of the narrative thus far. The second round was postponed on Friday afternoon when rain and heavy winds created a scary scene at Augusta National. Now, the updated Masters Tournament odds show Koepka and Rahm are way ahead of anybody else in the field.

Updated Masters Odds: Brooks Koepka & Jon Rahm to Duel it out

Per DraftKings Sportsbook:

Koepka was able to get in his full second round before the nasty weather touched down at Augusta, and he made sure to set the tone for the rest of the tournament. Firing off a five-under round, Koepka lowed his score to -12, building a three-stroke lead over Rahm before play resumes Saturday.

The hot start comes as a bit of a surprise given where we saw Koepka's game at when he left the PGA Tour for LIV Golf last year. The four-time major champion battled injuries throughout the 2022 season, failing to make the cut at last year's Masters Tournament.

"I don't even know if I should be saying this, but pretty sure I tried to break the back window with my fist," Koepka said to ESPN how he felt leaving last year's event. "I tried to put it through the back window not once, but twice. First time didn't go, so figured I'd try it again. Yeah, it was a lot of frustration last year. Super annoying.

"The ride home was pretty silent. I think just a lot of frustration. But yeah, I guess Mercedes makes a pretty good back window."

For Rahm, the narrative is a bit different. He has blossomed into one of the very best players in the PGA, winning the Genesis Invitational, The American Express and The Sentry Tournament of Champions this year. He was forced to withdraw from last month's PLAYERS Championship with a stomach illness.

Rahm got off to a horrid start to his opening round on Thursday, four-putting to card a double bogey. But he immediately rebounded, catching fire to finish seven under to share the lead. He was able to get through nine holes on Friday before play was called due to weather, shooting two-under before the turn.

Perhaps the biggest surprise on Friday is that World No. 1 Scottie Sheffler struggled mightily. He began the day as the second favorite to win The Masters (+450 on DraftKings) but could never find his form. After shooting a three over 75, Scheffler fell to -1 in the tournament, with a mountain to climb if he wants to reach Koepka.

Given Scheffler's demise, the updated Masters Tournament odds now show a battle between Jon Rahm and Brooks Koepka. And we should be set for a great finish whenever the weather decides to cooperate.
