Waste Management Open Betting Trends: Xander Schauffele Bets Leading the Way
According to BetMGM data analyst John Ewing, Xander Schauffele bets have been popular amongst bettors for the Waste Management Phoenix Open. The report states that the top three most bet players to win are Schauffele (+1400), Collin Morikawa (+1600) and Justin Thomas (+2200). The highest handle percentage is on Schauffele (12%), Morikawa (11%) and Thomas (9%).
Xander Shauffele enters the Waste Management Phoenix Open looking for his first win in the young 2023 PGA season. Since he withdrew from the Sentry Tournament of Champions with a back injury, Shaufele finished T3 at The American Express Open and T13 at the Farmers Insurance Open, proving that the quick back issue is his rearview mirror.
“I’ll have days where it’s a little bit sore and I get worried, but they tell me it’s fine. I’ve done more scans just to make sure and it’s been coming back the same. So yeah, it just takes a certain level of patience. Fortunately I’ve got a new team with me to let me know when I’m good to go and when I’m not,” Shaufele said, per Sports Illustrated.
Schauffele finished one stroke behind winner Scottie Scheffler at last year’s Waste Management Open after finishing in third place in 2021. He seems to be one of a handful of PGA players that really excel in the raucous atmosphere this particular event provides.
TPC Scottsdale may have even more spectators at this year’s event, given that the Super Bowl will be taking place in Glendale Sunday night, giving some sports-crazed fans a unique opportunity to see two huge events in succession.
The Waste Management Phoenix Open will surely give golf fans something to be excited about this weekend, and there is no reason to believe this year won’t be Xander Schauffele’s time to raise the trophy on Sunday. Be sure to use OddsShopper tools for the best odds throughout the PGA season!
