After 15 grueling days, the group stage at the 2023 Women’s World Cup is finally coming to a close. Group H wraps up play on Thursday with a two-game slate, which will decide the final two entrants into the knockout rounds. Below we will provide some bold Morocco-Colombia predictions and our best South Korea-Germany picks while using the latest odds available.
In this group, Colombia has been the highlight, winning their first two matches against South Korea and most notably Germany. Las Chicas Superpoderosas had +1100 odds to win their group before the tournament kicked off, and now are in a position to do exactly that.
Meanwhile, Germany and Morocco sit respectively in second and third place, level on three points a piece. The Germans have a ten-goal advantage in regards goal difference, which means they would advance should the countries finish level. Finally, South Korea is the only team from this group that has already been eliminated.

Bold Morocco-Colombia Predictions
While it would need a collapse of epic proportions, Colombia still technically could fall out of the World Cup on Thursday. Instead, they will probably be more focused on clinching first place, which would give them the benefit of playing Jamaica in the Round of 16. Not to discredit what Jamaica have done, but this would be a massive boost for the Colombians. With Morocco also fighting for their place, this match should be full of up-and-down, exciting football.
Colombia’s attack can help this come true too. In their match against Germany, they proved they can scored against even the most well-oiled defenses. Linda Caicedo finally showed her prowess in front of net with an outrageous top-corner finish, and they grabbed a corner goal, showcasing the variety in which they can score. Over their last six matches in all competitions, they have scored two goals in four, which is a positive sign that this is not just a fluke.
For Morocco, we saw them play a few friendlies before this tournament where they held Italy and Switzerland to goose eggs. Barring the 6-0 trouncing by Germany, generally this team is not bad defensively. However, this match is going to pressure them to open up and try to score, just because of the elimination circumstances. In my opinion, Colombia will take advantage of that and break on the counter.
In turn, I like the Colombia team total going over 1.5 goals. This offers odds of -120, which equates to an implied win probability of 54.5%. This is good value for a play that is also not too outlandish, given some of the low scorelines we have witnessed at the 2023 Women’s World Cup.
Final Bold Morocco-Colombia Predictions: Colombia team total over 1.5 goals (-120, DraftKings)

Best South Korea-Germany Picks
Our last group stage match at the 2023 Women’s World Cup features South Korea and Germany. As we said earlier, South Korea have already been eliminated, which means motivation will probably be a bit lower. So far, teams that were eliminated went 1-1-4 on matchday three, with Zambia serving as the only country to get a win. Note, that singular win was against Costa Rica, another team eliminated after just their second match. Basically, I am saying do not expect much from the side, led by manager Collin Bell.
For Germany, they do still have unfinished business and we know how ruthless they can be at times. We said something similar about Brazil, and they obviously did not get it over the line against Jamaica on the final day. However, Brazil always has an underwhelming nature that follows them; Germany are the antithesis of that.
Even though they lost to Colombia, they lost to a side playing at their very best. Martina Voss-Tecklenburg’s side also had a great reaction to going down and eventually won and converted a penalty thanks to Alexandra Popp. The match was obviously stolen from under their feet again, but now they have another opportunity to react and set things straight. In fact, the last time they lost, which was the England in the Euro final, they won four straight and outscored their opponents 15-2.
It goes without saying they have a lot of historical trends in their favor too. For one, despite being the 17th best side in the world according to FIFA, South Korea have lost six World Cup games in a row, being held to a clean sheet in five. On top of that, the Germans have never lost on matchday three and are 8-1-0 in their last nine matches against Asian opponents.
All in all, Germany are the chalky favorites and rightfully so. The moneyline or -1.5 spread in favor of Germany does not have much value so we have to take this in a different direction. One thing we know about Germany is that they are a second-half team. Over their last ten matches, 70.5% of their goals have came in the second half, so I would side with the second half being the highest scoring. Playing Alexandra Popp to score is never a bad shout either, for a player that still has great Golden Boot chances.
