England-Denmark Prediction
England’s first match at the 2023 Women’s World Cup was underwhelming to say the least. The Lionesses beat Haiti 1-0, thanks to a lone penalty kick from Georgia Stanway. However, England definitely underperformed given its 2.6 expected goal tally. Some of this can be attributed to Kerly Theus’ unforgettable performance in goal, as she produced 10 saves and even stopped Stanway’s first penalty before it was retaken due to her coming off her line too early. Still, with England holding 74% possession, one would have thought that one of the favorites at this tournament would produce something better.
Next up is Denmark, who currently is No. 13 in the FIFA Women’s Rankings. This will be a much harder game, and the holes left behind from Beth Mead and Leah Williamson might grow to be more noticeable. The Danes beat China on Matchday 1 ever so narrowly. In fact, the match looked like it was going to end as a stalemate before a looping header and final touch from Amalie Vangsgaard gave Denmark the advantage.
Looking back, England is 8-3-6 all-time versus Denmark but has won its last three head-to-head meetings across all competitions. England is not a big enough favorite to only bet on it covering the -1.5 spread, and its moneyline is far too juiced. Another angle to watch is the under; about 64% of matches so far have stayed under 2.5 total goals. In turn, the parlay to go after is England to win and under 2.5 total goals, which sits at +150. Ultimately, England at least went after it in its first match and just met a hot keeper. Denmark had a hard time even getting shots on frame, so even an injured England side might give it trouble.
Final England-Denmark Prediction: England Win and Under 2.5 Total Goals (+150, DraftKings)

China-Haiti Prediction
China-Haiti is going to be an intriguing match because everything is on the line for both of these countries. Despite its poor record against CONCACAF nations, China enters this match as favorites, boasting an implied win probability of 62.3%. Most are viewing this match as China’s chance to set things straight. Shui Qingxia’s team will not want to lose three consecutive World Cup matches, but luckily, it is 8-1-1 against teams playing in their first World Cup. With that being said, China cannot look past Haiti. It has a star in between the sticks and really outperformed expectations, at least in its first match.
From a betting angle, China should be able to keep a clean sheet on the night. Again, the trend with this entire World Cup is fewer goals; riding the under is now worthless, so bettors have to get creative. China has held a clean sheet in five of its last nine matches, and +100 is fair value considering Haiti is just the No. 53 team in the world and does not have the flashiest attack.
On top of that, over 8.5 total corners at -125 is worth a sprinkle. China’s first match featured 10 corners, and this match has the potential to have even more given what is at stake. Haiti will do whatever it can to keep China from scoring, so clearances will surely be going behind its net.
Final China-Haiti Prediction: China Clean Sheet (+100, DraftKings)
Over 8.5 Total Corners (-125, DraftKings)
