On Tuesday, Groups D and E wrap up their group stage campaigns in an exciting four-match slate. Below we will provide the best Women’s World Cup bets for Vietnam-Netherlands and China-England. Make sure to also read the preview for USA-Portugal.
Tuesday has the potential to be really exciting, as three tickets for the knockout rounds are ready to be punched. In Group D, England has all but qualified and Haiti has been eliminated, leaving Denmark and China to fight for the final spot. Both sit on 3 points, but China has the much harder contest, playing two-win England, who will want a result here too since first place is still in the balance.
Meanwhile, Group E is wide open, with Vietnam serving as the only team not eligible to advance. The United States and Netherlands are both on four points and are likely to win and advance to the knockouts. However, Portugal could test the Americans, leaving the opportunity for the Dutch to grab first place. Either way, each group’s matches are being played at the same time, so all it knows is that it has to win. That doubled the pressure for the players and doubled the excitement for the fans.

Vietnam-Netherlands Prediction
The Netherlands are obviously the overwhelming favorites here, with moneyline odds of -20,000 and -170 odds on the -3.5 spread. There is absolutely no doubt the Dutch are great and still have the incentive of qualification and first place dangling in front of them. Even without Vivianne Miedema, they have put together a tournament to be proud of, even getting one back on the United States.
However, the favoritism here is a little bit overpriced. Vietnam was a massive underdog in its first two games and managed to keep those games within a respectable margin. One could even argue the toughest part of its tournament has passed, with its debut and USA match out of the way. Now it is playing with absolutely nothing to lose, having already made its country proud.
Part of this prediction is also based on the performance of goalkeeper Tran Thi Kim Thanh. She has 10 saves at this World Cup, including one from the penalty spot, and has only conceded five goals on a post-shot expected goal tally of 6.1. This is a significant testament to her and the defense’s resolve, especially considering the team in general was expected to concede 9.5 goals.
Vietnam is a tough team. It has no problem fouling to break up the play, and it will also be on the hunt for its first goal. Its attack was marginally better against Portugal, so this confidence should continue growing. While it has some lofty defeats at the hands of European opponents, Vietnam can certainly cover the +3.5 spread, with odds of +115. Remember, the Netherlands only have two goals so far, so putting a four-goal margin past Vietnam will take an extreme shift in offensive prowess.
Final Vietnam-Netherlands Prediction: Vietnam +3.5 (+115, DraftKings)

China-England Prediction
England is in a bit of a peculiar spot with this match against China. After winning its first two matches at the Women’s World Cup, now is the perfect time for rest and rotation. However, first place has not been secured, and there is a real opportunity it could fail to qualify should it lose and Denmark win, both by large enough margins to flip the goal difference.
In turn, expect a really strong England team and performance. It will need it too because it has a very poor record against China, going just 1-1-3 against them in all competitions. Both countries have very strong final-day records in the group stages, and obviously their qualification records speak for themselves.
One thing to note is that this group has been extremely bland in terms of goal scoring; all of the four matches so far have ended 1-0. This backs up a tournament-wide trend of matches being quite reserved on the goal tally. Moreover, in China’s and England’s last 14 combined matches, 10 fell under 2.5 goals, with the defenses only conceding 0.71 goals per game. Unfortunately, England has also struggled offensively without the likes of Beth Mead and Fran Kirby as they sit at home due to injuries.
With all of those factors in play, this match will be decided by a goal or two. England has what it takes but just marginally. Again, the moneyline is way to favored towards the chalk, so the play is a parlay on England to win and under 2.5 total goals to give this angle more value.
Final China-England Prediction: England Win and Under 2.5 Total Goals (+175, DraftKings)
