Best XFL Bets & Predictions | Week 9
Las Vegas Vipers vs. Houston Roughnecks
The Las Vegas Vipers are 6-point underdogs to the Houston Roughnecks in a game with a total of 43.5 points. The Vipers are 2-6 after losing their most recent game 21-17 to the St. Louis Battlehawks. Meanwhile, Houston is 5-3 after defeating the San Antonio Brahmas last week.
With a somewhat lopsided spread, the total may provide more value here. Las Vegas ranks fourth in pace to Houston’s fifth, and Houston is second in the XFL in scoring to Las Vegas’ fifth.
The Roughnecks’ scoring output has been depressed since a Week 4 slaughtering of the Orlando Guardians. While the Roughnecks scored 44 points in that game, they have eclipsed 20 points in just one game since then. The Vipers have also struggled to score, scoring at least 20 points in just three of their last five games. Like the Roughnecks, one of those came against the league-worst Orlando Guardians.
Overall, margins look thin in this game. However, a slight edge may be gained towards the under, particularly with Las Vegas’ quarterback woes and elimination from the postseason.

Orlando Guardians vs. San Antonio Brahmas
In the second leg of the Saturday XFL double-header, the Orlando Guardians take on the San Antonio Brahmas as 1.5-point underdogs in a game with a 39 total. The Guardians are 1-7 after losing 18-16 to the Arlington Renegades last week. Similarly, San Antonio is 2-6 after dropping last week’s game to the Roughnecks 17-15.
After successfully buying low on the Guardians for weeks, the buy will continue here. The Guardians have now lost by 3 to Las Vegas, 1 to Arlington, 7 to Seattle and 2 to Arlington again last week. In fact, Arlington played so poorly that it took two interceptions and three fumbles for them to win the game. One of those fumbles resulted in a score. Aside from the turnovers, Quinten Dormady has completely sparked the offense and led the team to a win over the best team in the league in D.C.
On the other side, San Antonio simply cannot figure out the quarterback position. Jack Coan returned from injury to continue his putrid play. He currently averages 4.9 yards per attempt while completing 56.6% of his passes. Both rank well below the league average. The Brahmas claimed NFL castoff Paxton Lynch, who may be asked to play at some point. The same could be said for Jawon Pass, who played poorly in place of Coan earlier this year. Ultimately, Orlando should be favored in this game.
