  • Ticket giveaways: Drafters sometimes gives away tickets to users who complete certain steps, such as following their Twitter account, liking/retweeting the giveaway tweet and/or correctly predicting a game outcome. Winners are then randomly drawn and will receive free entry tickets.

Drafters Fantasy Football Best Ball Tournaments

In the Best Ball format, a fundamental feature at Drafters, players assemble a team that does not change throughout the season. Unlike conventional leagues, there are no options for waiver moves, trades or adds/drops. The highest-scoring players on your roster are chosen each week, so there is no need for lineup management. You can draft multiple lineups — up to 150 in most contests. One approach is stacking players from the same team, particularly quarterbacks and their pass catchers. Ideally, when selecting a quarterback, it’s better to secure at least one of his pass catchers, with two or more being even more optimal. You have to monitor player exposures in this format, especially if engaging in multiple drafts throughout the summer.

Best ball drafting offers diverse approaches. The process involves a 20-round draft, with options for rapid drafts featuring 30-second pick times or more leisurely drafts allowing eight hours per pick. A 30-second per-pick draft typically spans around two hours, while an eight-hour per-pick draft can extend much longer. Given the substantial prize pool at Drafters this year ($2 million total and $300,000 to the first-place winner), it makes sense to partake in as many drafts as possible. The more drafts you do, the broader the exposure you will have to different players, thus enhancing your chances of winning.

Drafters Best Ball Million III

The Best Ball Million is Drafters’ biggest NFL Best Ball contest each year. The 2024 contest, called Drafters Million III, is now LIVE and will featured $2.5 million in prizes and $500,000 to first place!

Here’s what you can expect from your entry of just $15. The format is total points, with the most points winning from Weeks 1 through 17 — as in collectively, not week to week. It is a PPR format, with Drafters selecting your top-performing quarterback, two running backs, three wide receivers, one tight end and one flex automatically.

Drafts are 12 teams deep and have 20 rounds. They start whenever 12 players join, and you can join fast drafts of 30 seconds per pick or slow drafts of eight hours per pick.

There will be prizes paid out to 28,000 places, and first place overall will receive $500,000. Additionally, Drafters is offering these rewards for drafting milestones:

  • Enter 10+ Drafts and get a bonus $15 ticket
  • Enter 25+ Drafts and get 1 additional $15 ticket
  • Enter 50+ Drafts and get 2 additional $15 tickets
  • Enter 100+ Drafts and get 3 additional $15 tickets
  • Max Enter 150 Drafts and get $100 in Bonus Cash and a Drafters T-Shirt

Drafters Fantasy Pick’em

Drafters has unveiled a Pick’em game where users predict whether players will surpass or fall short of specified stat lines. You can construct entries with up to eight picks, giving you the chance to win up to 100x the entry fee. For instance, a successful $10, eight-leg entry could yield a $1,000 payout on a non-Safety entry.

When crafting your Pick’em entries, make sure to consider both over and under selections. Avoid the temptation to consistently choose all overs, as player props are often tilted in favor of the over. Keep an eye out for free squares and discounted plays, which are frequently offered randomly by many Pick’em sites.

What Are Drafters Fantasy Pick’em Entry Types?

Drafters Pick’em has two types of entries: Standard and Safety. Standard entries give you higher payouts, but you win nothing if you get one pick incorrect. Safety entries allow you to miss as many as two picks and still win money, though the compromise is that maximum payouts for 100% correct entries is lower.

Drafters Pick’em Standard Payout Structure

Here is the payout multiplier structure for Drafters Fantasy’s pick’em contest. Remember, you have to get every pick right to win, so any incorrect pick leads to a 0x payout.

No. of PicksMultiplier
23X
36X
410X
520X
635X
765X
8100X

There are two major things to note with a standard Drafters entry: One, the payout for seven correct at 65x is higher than most apps that offer eight-pick entries — others are in the 50x to 60x range. The other thing is the aforementioned chance to win 100x your investment, and though this is becoming a bit more common among daily fantasy sites, it is still a lucrative opportunity.

Drafters Pick’em Safety Payout Structure

Clicking the “Safety” slider on your entry gives you some leeway with incorrect picks. Here are payouts for these entries:

No. of Picks in EntryPayout for All CorrectPayout for 1 IncorrectPayout for 2 Incorrect
22X0.5X0
32.25X1.25X0
44X2X0
55X1.5X1X
610X2.5X1.5X
725X2.5X2X
850X5X2.5X

Drafters App Experience

drafters fantasy app screenshots

Design and Layout

Drafters has a lot of offerings, between their Best Ball, pick’em and other daily fantasy contests, so having an app that can keep all of that clean and organized is of utmost importance. In this regard, Drafters closely resembles Underdog Fantasy, another app that seamlessly merges Best Ball, season-long and daily fantasy contests. The two apps have very similar layouts, so if you have used Underdog, you will probably have a good sense of the Drafters app.

We used light mode in the above screenshots, but there is also a dark mode, which you can see in the screenshots for the sign-up walkthrough. In the light mode design, the blue scheme pops much more against a white background, but it is still a lot of white. The dark mode is, obviously, more muted — possibly too muted, as it is a little bland. That said, the amount of white in light mode is also a bit much, so we preferred dark mode.

On the Lobby page, fantasy contests are arranged as horizontal tiles, which you click to join contests. The next screen will show you all the information about that contest such as the buy-in, draft type, roster type and number of entrants.

At the bottom of the main screen is the navigation bar, which will take you to My Teams, Pick’em, Rankings and News. The Pick’em page is pretty standard, but design-wise it is unmemorable. Plus, the size of the tiles means you will have to scroll a bit unless you use the search function.

The Rankings page is the most colorful one on the app and is much easier to digest than the Pick’em page. There is position sorting at the top of the screen, a search function and different tabs for All Players and My Rankings.

Overall, the app design is fine. There is nothing that wows, but there are also no major knocks against it in that regard.

Navigation

The tabs at the bottom of the app screen allow you to move between drafts, Pick’em, rankings, etc., with ease. When on the lobby or Pick’em pages, you can sort by sport with the icons at the top, and the small icon on the right side of the screen opens up a filter window to further refine your contests.

When you click a Drafters contest you want to enter, it will take you to the draft information page, and joining is as simple as clicking the green Join button at the top.

Navigating the Pick’em page is a bit more of a burden. Again, the choice to have such large tiles is pretty cumbersome, as it means you either have to scroll through a bunch of players or collapse a number of games if you are looking to play someone further down the roster. You can sort by the statistic you want to play to refine your options, and there is a search function, so there is some relief if you know exactly who you want to play. However, the Pick’em layout does not lend itself to browsing.

Drafters Customer Service

Customer service options at Drafters are limited and different between the mobile and desktop platforms. To reach customer support on the app, you access it via the menu at the top left of the screen — it’s under Contact Support. Clicking opens an email draft addressed to Drafters. The desktop site, however, has a live chat feature that you can find from the account dropdown. So, there are two methods of contacting customer service, but only one per platform.

That said, reviews of customer service are quite positive, with most users saying Drafters gets back to them and fixes their issues within a day. Here are some reviews collected from Reddit and the iOS app store:

“Been on the app for 3 months and have no complaints. Works great, first thing I had pop up I just contacted them and they took care of it same day. Would recommend to anyone.”

“My new go-to for DFS. Customer service is quick and honest. Simple deposits and withdrawals. Fun formats and snake style drafting as well.”

Player feedback from Reddit and iOS Store

That said, there are a few negative reviews with the app. Some of the problems users had included:

  • Difficulty joining drafts.
  • Issues with withdrawing funds.
  • Customer service methods not leading to speedy responses.

Overall, however, customer service appears to be a positive of the Drafters experience. Plus, the desktop site also has an FAQ search feature for troubleshooting issues that you can use before contacting customer support if you would prefer.

Contact Options

💬 Message: Drafters offers message support on the desktop site, which you can find in the Help section of the account dropdown menu.
📧 Email: Drafters email support is available 24/7 at support@drafters.com, though response times vary.

Conclusion

Drafters Fantasy ultimately does not offer anything wholly different from fantasy sites like Underdog, but it is a strong option if you are looking for a less popular alternative. It has a wide range of Best Ball and daily fantasy contests, comparable to Underdog’s offerings, and perhaps best of all, Drafters’ Pick’em has some of the best payouts for the format in the industry. The app itself needs some design and navigation tweaks, but pick’em fans should try out Drafters for the payout upside alone. All in all, this app is definitely worth checking out.

Does Drafters have an app?

Yes! You can download the Drafters Fantasy app in the iOS Store.

What is the most common Drafters fantasy football draft type?

“Snake” drafts are the most common type, meaning the player with the last pick in the first round has the first pick in the second round, the player with the first pick in the first-round picks last in the second and first in the third, and so on.

What is statistically the best draft position in Drafters fantasy football?

There is no set position in drafts that are statistically “best,” per se, as it depends entirely on your own draft strategy, the pool of players in a given draft, league scoring formats, etc. The best strategy is to gather rankings and mock draft numerous times leading up to your draft to get a gauge of what position is ideal for your strategy.

What is the best position to pick first in Drafters fantasy football?

This also depends on league scoring format, player pool and your own personal draft strategy, but typically wide receiver and running back are the positions that go off the board in the first round. In 2023, wide receiver was the most common No. 1 overall pick.

Is DFS considered gambling?

Daily fantasy sports are distinct from gambling, but federal law generally leaves it up to individual states to determine if it qualifies as sports betting. A little less than half of the U.S. states have formally declared DFS to be legal contests of skill and not gambling, while the ruling is murkier in the others. As of now, no state has a blanket law determining DFS to be illegal.

Can you play DFS in Florida?

Traditional DFS and pick’em DFS are both legal in Florida, but pick’em is up in the air at the moment. In September 2023, the Florida Gaming Control Commission sent cease-and-desist orders to several pick’em DFS operators like PrizePicks, stating that their contests were comparable to gambling. However, in December of 2023, a bill was filed that could officially legalize pick’em in Florida. For now, it is de facto legal since there are no laws against it.
